We are a team of enthusiastic professionals and provide a flexible and responsive service. About us We were set up in 2000 and are based in Hednesford, near Cannock. Our clients include established high street retailers and entrepreneurial businesses, schools and luxury car dealerships. Currently there are 9 in our team. We are a successful and dynamic practice, and we are expanding over the next few years. We will need talented and enthusiastic people. 2 Profile: Jon Hardy Qualification BSc (Hons) Architectural Technology, University of Wolverhampton, MCIAT When did you join HLP? During my work placement year as a CAD technician progressing to Architectural Technologist once qualified. What were the first projects you were involved with? I was employed to help with the drawing work on a major project for a large national retailer. What is the best thing about working for HLP? HLP is a small company, compared with its major clients, which means we all have to work together to be successful. What have you learnt working at HLP? Assisting with designing major projects has developed my understanding of construction methods and planning. What are you currently working on? A mixture of retail and education projects. What responsibilities do you have now? I am the first point of contact for Poundland and programme all the work on this account. I also oversee work of CAD technicians and a work experience student. 3 Profile: Rob Walsh Qualification BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying, Birmingham City University When did you join HLP? Part time while studying and then full time after graduation. What were the first projects you were involved with? A Phones 4U refit programme and a new build nursery in Bedfordshire. What is the best thing about working for HLP? Seeing a major project from conception all the way to completion, and the range of different clients means you are constantly expanding your knowledge base. What have you learnt working at HLP? Contract management and administration, project costing, negotiation and CAD skills. What are you currently working on? Project managing new store projects for Tiger and budget costs for school and commercial clients. What responsibilities do you have now? 4 GRADUATE CAD TECHNICIAN Purpose HLP UK Ltd are looking to recruit a suitably experienced and enthusiastic CAD Technician to work as part of a team delivering architectural and project management services for refurbishment projects primarily in the retail sector. The successful candidate will provide architectural support to our retail client portfolio, providing a flexible and responsive service. Candidates with an interest in 3D modelling, Revit and BIM are encouraged. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be personable with a pro-active attitude and will contribute when required in other sectors of the business. The successful candidate will also be expected to work on other projects as and when the need arises, including assisting with measured surveys and project administration. This is a permanent, full time position, primarily based out of our Hednesford premises. 5 Duties to Include: Drawing Preparation and Control: Production of existing layout drawings, elevations, sections in plan and model formats from existing drawing and survey notes Assistance with production of feasibility and scheme design drawings Standardisation of drawing formats Procurement of site location plans and conversion. Issuing and control (electronic and manual) of drawings and other documentation to clients, contractors and suppliers Internal project document and revision control. Responsible for the quality of drawing production Other Duties Preparation of project documentation, including specifications and precontract documents Preparation and submission of statutory approvals and dealing with enquiries. Project administration, including maintaining reports and schedules Production and compilation of Health and Safety File Assistance with other general office duties and housekeeping. 7 GRADUATE QUANTITY SURVEYOR Purpose HLP UK Ltd are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and enthusiastic graduate Quantity Surveyor to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering surveying, architectural and project management services for new build and refurbishment projects in the commercial, education and residential sectors. The successful candidate will provide cost forecasting and control services across our broad range of clients and sectors. All QS duties from feasibility costings and dilapidation appraisals, tendering and procurement, site valuations and final account reconciliation will be covered. Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be personable with a pro-active attitude and subscribe to our culture and what makes an HLP person. They will be prepared to contribute when required in other sectors of the business. Working with colleagues and external partners and clients, they will be an effective, clear and precise communicator. They will also be expected to work on other projects as and when the need arises, including assisting with measured surveys and project administration. This is a permanent, full time position, primarily based out of our Hednesford premises, with the possibility of some time being spent in our satellite office in the South East. 10 GRADUATE BUILDING AND LAND SURVEYOR Purpose HLP UK Ltd are looking to recruit a suitably qualified and enthusiastic graduate Surveyor to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering surveying, architectural and project management services for new build and refurbishment projects in the commercial, education and residential sectors. The successful candidate will carry out and assist with measured buildings, acquisition and condition, topographical and 360degree photographic surveys and will be responsible for the accurate production of survey deliverables, including CAD drawings, reports and visualisation packages. They will understand different measured survey techniques, including 3D laser scanning and be able to process point cloud data as well as interpret other employees survey notes. They will have a genuine interest developing a career in surveying. Candidates with experience of working in 3D with Cloudworx, Revit, ReCap or Cyclone are encouraged. Use of Cloudworx and Cyclone to produce drawings from point cloud data.
