1 Civil Engineering Surveyor (CES) is the journal of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES). Published ten times a year for members and subscribers, CES features articles on land and quantity surveying, GIS, GNSS, construction law, project and commercial management, education, training, health and safety, and many more topics relevant to the professional civil engineering surveyor. CES also features news, regional events, book reviews and the latest recruitment positions. Over 4,000 print copies of CES are mailed out to ICES members and the wider construction industry. Meeting the demand of today s construction professionals, we also publish an ebook edition that is mailed out to a more expansive audience and is freely available to download on the ICES and SURCO websites, Linkedin, Facebook and Twitter. 5 CES Submission Guidelines:April /8/09 11:59 Page 1 Article Guidelines for Civil Engineering Surveyor (CES) CES, the monthly journal of the Chartered Institution of Civil Engineering Surveyors (ICES), welcomes proposals and submissions for articles covering any topic within the civil engineering surveying field. As our readership covers a diverse range of specialisms, we encourage articles that are informative and easy to understand for the non-specialist. We publish articles varying in length from 800 to 3,000 words, preferably with relevant photographs, images and diagrams. If you are submitting an article electronically, please do not embed images in a word document, but attach them separately as high resolution (300dpi) tif or jpeg files. We ask that before you prepare and submit an article for our consideration, please send a short outline or summary to the editor to ensure that it would be of relevance to our readers. There is no guarantee that any submitted article will be printed and we reserve the right to edit any article we decide to publish. All articles must be attributed to appropriate author(s) and all approval procedures with regards to image copyright, project contracts etc must be carried out prior to submission. As CES is the journal of a professional institution, articles that are written purely to promote a particular product or company will not be considered suitable matter for publishing as editorial.
