The Initiative s verall gal and cmmitment is by 2025 t attain measurable and significant imprvements in children s health, develpment and educatin utcmes and wrk twards eliminating equity gaps. The Backbne team, Steering Cmmittee, and cnsultants have cmpleted a slid bdy f wrk during the first year, and we are pised t begin the wrk f years 2-5. This initiative is funded jintly by the Centers fr Disease Cntrl and Preventin and the Gates Fundatin, with interagency supprt prvided by the Departments f Health and Early Learning. This cntracted psitin will prvide strategic leadership, resurce develpment, and high level public expsure fr the wrk f the Washingtn Essentials fr Childhd (EfC) Initiative. The Executive Directr will champin and supprt the wrk f a multi-disciplinary Steering Cmmittee, prvide strategic leadership t and cllabrate with the EfC Backbne team, and engage culturally and linguistically diverse stakehlders frm the public and private sectrs t achieve the Essentials fr Childhd gals. The successful candidate will be able t apprach the wrk with bldness and innvatin, and will set abut accmplishing ppulatin-level gals thrugh wrking acrss sectrs with an assets-based perspective. He r she will build n existing wrk, and ensure that appraches are cmmunity-infrmed, evidence-driven, address inequities, and have an emphasis n preventin. Overview f the Psitin: The unique structure f this psitin requires a cllabrative, adaptive leader wh is able t guide the EfC Initiative twards success, wrking with diverse partners at many levels t mve the needle frward t prvide and prmte safe, stable and nurturing relatinships fr children in Washingtn state. The Executive Directr will keep the Steering Cmmittee engaged, infrmed, and invlved; cultivate and maintain relatinships with ther crss-sectr leaders t generate their supprt fr and invlvement in EfC; cnnect EfC t related initiatives; leverage relatinships t generate additinal resurces t supprt EfC; and serve as primary staff liaisn t the Steering Cmmittee and Management Team. The Executive Directr will reprt t the crss agency (Department f Health and Department f Early Learning) Essentials fr Childhd Management Team. Key Functins Strategic leadership and visining Drawing n the cllective impact mdel, guide the Backbne team t implement the EfC cmmn agenda and develp an apprpriate perating framewrk. Prvide directin and supprt t partner rganizatins in aligning their wrk t the Cmmn Agenda (e.g., identifying pprtunities fr prgram wrk t supprt specific gals). Oversee develpment f briefing dcuments and ther cmmunicatins, as necessary, t infrm Steering Cmmittee f EfC status. Ensure effective facilitatin f Steering Cmmittee and wrking grup meetings. Outline the verall visin fr Steering Cmmittee meetings (meeting purpses, gals, agendas and prcesses). Supprt Backbne team and Wrkgrup c-chairs with facilitating meetings, assisting in preparatin f meeting materials, etc. as needed. Partner cultivatin, engagement and public utreach Strategically cultivate relatinships with Steering Cmmittee members, keep them infrmed abut EFC and be a cnduit fr their input int EfC. Effectively cmmunicate the visin, purpse and value fr EfC and create an urgency fr change amng relevant stakehlders, including cmmunity members, plicymakers, funders, and ptential partners. Create and leverage the necessary partnerships, relatinships, and cmmunity-based supprt with relevant stakehlders t achieve success f the EfC cmmn agenda. Serve as a liaisn t ther related initiatives, as needed. Fr example, crdinate research and ther activities with relevant EfC partners t minimize redundancies and t align strategies and actins. Serve as an EfC ambassadr at select cnferences and events. Supprt develpment f cmmunicatins strategies and materials as the EfC initiative evlves (summary dcuments, brchures, web/scial media appraches, press strategy, etc.). Data cllectin, analysis, and learning In general, wrk clsely with research and data staff and the EfC Data Cmmittee lead, t cnceptualize, implement, and measure data-driven initiatives that drive imprvements in safe, stable, and nurturing relatinships and envirnments fr children and families. Identify imprvements in use f data-driven decisin-making and ensure that data is cllected, integrated, and cmmunicated effectively acrss EfC and partner rganizatins. Ensure a data, measurement and reprting infrastructure t supprt shared measurement fr the EfC initiative is successfully established. In partnership with the Data Cmmittee, manage creatin f yearly summary reprts f prgress fr Steering Cmmittee, Advisry Cuncil, and external audiences. Financial Sustainability RFQQ 14-115 Page 2 f 5

Organize and implement a sustainability plan, including grant supprt and the establishment f nging revenue surces.
