1 JOB ANNOUNCEMENT Jb Title: Lcatin: Start Date: Reprts t: Prgram Officer, Landscape Standard Washingtn, DC strngly preferred Immediate hire Manager, Landscape Standard Verra seeks a Prgram Officer, Landscape Standard t assist with designing and implementing the Landscape Standard (LS), in cperatin with a cnsrtium f partners (including Rainfrest Alliance (RA), the Climate, Cmmunity and Bidiversity Alliance (CCBA) and thers). The Prgram Officer will supprt the belw functins related primarily t develping the cre framewrk fr the LS. The ideal candidate will have strng technical understanding f sustainability issues and cncepts, demnstrated experience cnducting web-based research and literature review and rganizing results, and an ability t wrk in a self-directed manner while incrprating input frm acrss ur internal and external team. Abut Verra Verra supprts climate actin and sustainable develpment thrugh the develpment and management f standards, tls and prgrams that credibly, transparently and rbustly assess envirnmental and scial impacts, and drive funding fr sustaining and scaling up these benefits. As a missin-driven, nn-prfit (NGO) rganizatin, Verra wrks in any arena where we see a need fr clear standards, a rle fr market-driven mechanisms and an pprtunity t achieve envirnmental and scial gd. Verra currently manages a number f glbal standards framewrks designed t drive finance twards activities that mitigate climate change and prmte sustainable develpment. Abut the Landscape Standard Sustainable landscape prductin mdels fr agricultural, frest and extractive gds can meet glbal cmmdity needs while generating tangible benefits fr peple and the planet. T supprt the develpment f these mdels, there is a need fr a glbal framewrk that can measure prgress ver time, and drive incentives and finance twards sustainable landscapes. The Landscape Standard (LS) is an emerging tl t help drive landscape-scale sustainability.

2 The LS will prvide measurable indicatrs f the state and trajectry f sustainability at the landscape level acrss envirnmental, scial, and ecnmic dimensins. LS is being develped by a cnsrtium f partners, led by a Secretariat made up f the Climate, Cmmunity and Bidiversity Alliance (CCBA), Rainfrest Alliance (RA) and Verra, and in cperatin with the Internatinal Unin fr the Cnservatin f Nature (IUCN), the Nature Cnservatin Research Center (NCRC), Prfrest and Slidaridad. Jb Respnsibilities The Prgram Officer, Landscape Standard will be respnsible fr supprting Verra-led wrk t develp the LS framewrk, in cperatin with partners. In particular, the Prgram Officer will supprt: Framewrk Develpment (60%) Attend and supprt weekly meetings f the Framewrk Develpment Grup (FDG, a subset f cnsrtium partners) t take ntes, participate in discussins, and manage cmmunicatins with the FDG; Cllate, manage and respnd t feedback frm pilt partners, technical experts, public reviewers and ther LS framewrk stakehlders t ensure diverse perspectives are heard; Prvide research supprt t infrm LS framewrk develpment, particularly related t: Tracking and rganizing relevant resurces (e.g., data surces; new and emerging technlgies/methdlgies fr data cllectin/measurement; reprting tls/platfrms; scientific articles, etc.); and Mapping and staying current with linkages t SDGs and ther established r emerging framewrks fr landscape, prject r supply chain sustainability (e.g., farm-based certificatin, Science-Based Targets initiative, etc.). Prvide supprt t LS framewrk dcument drafting, particularly related t: Incrprating feedback frm pilt partners, technical experts, public reviewers and early LS users t imprve LS framewrk dcuments; and 2

3 Cntributing t drafting f LS guidance related t prcedural rules and requirements fr use f the LS (e.g., data, mnitring, reprting and verificatin, etc.), and t the principles, criteria and indicatrs related t envirnmental, prductin, sci-ecnmic and gvernance issues addressed at the landscape scale. Knwledge management, cmmunicatins and crdinatin supprt (40%) Supprt knwledge management t ensure streamlined and effective infrmatin flws between LS partners by: Managing file and infrmatin structure and keeping sharing settings updated; Prviding supprt n the utilizatin and adptin f prject management tls and platfrms as well as ther ways t maximize team efficiency, learning, and ptential fr innvatin. Supprt and manage cmmunicatins amng LS partners and external stakehlders t enhance engagement by: Drafting and distributing cmmunicatins t LS partners; Supprting develpment f external cmmunicatins materials; Prviding additinal cmmunicatins supprt as needed. Prvide crdinatin supprt t strengthen the LS cnsrtium: Crdinating and prviding lgistical supprt fr internal and external wrkshps, meetings and events fcused n the develpment and pilting f the LS framewrk; Supprting cntracting with independent cnsultants and partners. Represent Verra and the Landscape Standard in cnferences and ther events; and prvide ther supprt t the Landscape Standard team as needed Qualificatins We are seeking candidates wh have expertise in glbal and landscape-scale sustainability issues, excellent written and verbal cmmunicatin skills and attentin t detail, and wh are cllabrative team players. Yu shuld have: 3

4 At least 2 years f prfessinal experience, preferably with significant experience wrking in r with develping cuntries; Bachelr s Degree in a related field, such as frestry, agriculture, natural resurces, envirnmental management, internatinal develpment r ecnmics; Demnstrated experience researching and cmmunicating sustainability challenges and slutins, as well as managing, crdinating, r participating in wrking grups t gather inputs frm diverse stakehlders; Strng understanding f sustainability issues (envirnmental, prductin, sciecnmic, gvernance) especially at the landscape scale; climate change mitigatin, adaptatin and resilience cncepts; landscape appraches; SDGs; and/r cmmdity sustainability initiatives; Strng management, rganizatinal and planning skills, with the ability t wrk independently, be persistent, and juggle multiple, smetimes cmpeting pririties; Excellent writing and cmmunicatin skills fr diverse audiences, preferably with experience in technical writing (e.g., n plicy, science r sustainability tpics); Demnstrated experience dcumenting, sharing, and utilizing key knwledge and lessns learned with internal and external partners; Technlgically agile, with prficiency in MS Office (Outlk, Wrd, Excel, PwerPint), Ggle Suite/Drive, Drpbx and ther cmmn apps; and Cultural awareness with ability t wrk with stakehlders and partners frm different cuntries and cultures. Master s Degree in a related field, such as frestry, agriculture, natural resurces, envirnmental management, internatinal develpment r ecnmics wuld be an advantage. Knwledge, prir applicatin f, r experience develping and/r managing standards r certificatins, and language ability in Spanish, French, Prtuguese r Bahasa Indnesia wuld als be assets, as wuld advanced prject management, data analysis and/r marketing skills. Additinally, an aptitude fr and interest in the strategic pwer f cmmunicatins, including scial media and tech, wuld be a bnus. 4
