1 CO-OP ADVERTISING PROGRAM Authorized BOSS distributors and their registered sub-distributors may participate in the Co-op advertising program. DISTRIBUTOR Authorized BOSS distributors who advertise within their assigned territory, as defined by BOSS PRODUCTS, may participate in the Co-op advertising program. Reimbursement will be made by credit memo only. SUB-DISTRIBUTOR Sub-distributors who advertise within their distributor s assigned territory, as defined by BOSS PRODUCTS, may participate in the Co-op advertising program. All advertising credits are done through the distributor. The distributor, as stated in the general business terms, must register the sub-distributor. Sub-distributor advertising counts towards the distributor s advertising limit. Sub-distributors must meet all the same program requirements as the distributor. PROMOTIONAL ITEMS The following items are available to all BOSS Distributors: Free of charge Sales literature (brochures) Product Pocket Guide Newspaper ad slicks Radio Ads Television Ads Billboard layouts Dealer window decal Sales/Showroom DVD Wall Posters Product Nominal charge* Outdoor Sign Banner BOSS License Plate SmartHitch Display Stand Parts Display Stand Pop Up Tents BOSS Plastic Show Bags Personalized Sold & Serviced by Decals Lighted indoor signs Feather Flags *Co-op Credit may apply. Contact the Marketing Department for details.
2 PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS: A. All Co-op advertising requests must have prior approval. Pre-Approval form can be downloaded from Dealer Access area of B. All advertising must be solely related to BOSS PRODUCTS and the participating distributor or sub-distributor. Advertisements containing other manufacturers products, names, logos, etc. will not qualify for credit. C. BOSS PRODUCTS will pay 60% of all approved advertising invoices up to your advertising limit. Your advertising limit is calculated by taking the number of Truck and UTV/ATV snowplows (plow boxes), Box Plows and tailgate spreaders (two spreaders count as one plow box in this calculation) ordered during the pre-season and multiplying by $60. If you require additional advertising assistance you must contact the BOSS Marketing Department prior to submitting your advertising invoices for co-op consideration. D. All advertising prepared by a distributor or sub-distributor must not make product claims which BOSS PRODUCTS does not make in its advertising or specifications. In addition, advertising must not contain false or misleading claims or statements. E. BOSS PRODUCTS name, products and/or its registered trade names, trademarks or logos must be used prominently and correctly in the advertisement. If they appear only in the body copy, or are used incorrectly, the ad will not qualify for co-op credit. Please contact the BOSS Marketing Department for usage guidelines and logo files. F. All co-op advertising requests must be submitted immediately after receipt of the advertising invoice.
3 G. Reimbursements for all advertising will be made by credit memo to the Distributor s account. H. Distributors with accounts that are not current may lose all advertising credits. I. All advertising requests must be for the current year and arrive at BOSS PRODUCTS by or before January 31st. Requests received after that date may not be accepted. Claims, which have been submitted on time but lack the required documentation, will be denied. J. Distributors and sub-distributors participating in the Co-op advertising program shall restrict their media advertising to the following: 1. Newspapers 2. Market related Magazines 3. Radio 4. Television 5. Direct mail 6. Outdoor signs and Billboards 7. Yellow page advertising 8. Search Engine Marketing 9. Promotional events and Shows (prior approval is required) Note: Internal expenses such as overhead, labor, vehicle expenses, salaries, etc. do not qualify for reimbursement. K. All Co-op advertising reimbursement requests must have a BOSS Co-op Advertising Form attached and be completely filled out. Proper documentation must be attached and organized. Clothing and Promotional Items* All BOSS related clothing and promotional items must be purchased directly through the BOSS Plow Gear program to receive Co-op reimbursement. Any items purchased through other vendors are subject to Co-op denial. *PLEASE NOTE: The Season marked the requirement that all clothing/promotional items to be purchased directly through the BOSS Plow Gear program to receive co-op reimbursement.
4 Newspaper/Market Related Magazines You must submit a copy of the invoice showing the exact dates of publication and the number of insertions per publication, at your lowest contract rate less all discounts, with the actual full tear sheets intact. BOSS PRODUCTS will supply distributors with approved newspaper and magazine ad slicks free of charge. Radio/Television You must submit a copy of the station invoice showing the length of each commercial, the run time and the total cost at your lowest contract rate, less all discounts. You must also supply the broadcast script with the ANA/RAB documentation for radio or the ANA/TVB documentation for television. This documentation must be signed and notarized. BOSS PRODUCTS will supply distributors with approved radio and television spots free of charge. Direct Mail You must supply a copy of the printer s invoice showing the number of pieces printed, size and color. You must also supply an original of the direct mail piece. No photocopies will be accepted. You must supply postal receipts for the quantity mailed. Outdoor Signs/Billboards You must supply a copy of the invoice identifying the design used, locations used and the duration of use. You must also supply a photograph of the sign or billboard on location. BOSS PRODUCTS will supply distributors with billboard layouts free of charge. Yellow Page Advertising You must supply a copy of the invoice and contract from the publishing company showing your lowest contract rate, less all discounts, and a tear sheet of the actual advertisement in the directory. The listing must be placed under Snow Removal Equipment only and the heading must be BOSS Snowplows and Ice Control Equipment. BOSS PRODUCTS will supply ad layouts upon request. Trademark and Tradename ads must be placed using the American Yellow Pages Service ( ).
5 *BOSS Products will place a Tradename listing in the Distributor s hometown directory and will apply 100% Co-op Reimbursement to any Distributor that chooses to participate in the Pre-Season Yellow Page Program. A Co-op limit must be established to participate. Order forms will be sent to Distributors and ads will be placed using the American Yellow Pages Service ( ). The Order Form must be signed and returned by the Distributor. ** Additional 60% Co-op reimbursement is available to qualified Distributors that upgrade to a Trademark ad in their hometown directory. ** Additional Tradename or Trademark ads purchased in local directories will follow the standard 60% Co-op reimbursement guidelines. Search Engine Marketing Please contact Marketing Department for details. Promotional Events & Show Local events such as shows, open houses, drive-aways, etc., which are within the distributor s defined territory, may qualify for co-op assistance. However, these events do not automatically qualify. Distributors wishing to participate in a show or promotional event must submit complete details to BOSS PRODUCTS prior to the event and receive approval which must be submitted along with the request for co-op credit. If approved, you must submit a copy of the signed Show Contract showing total cost with booth dimensions and supply pictures of the booth contents.
