Prasad Vice-Chancellor Vignan s Foundation for Science Technology and Research For any parent, the ultimate happiness is to witness their ward being well settled with a good career. Industries seek well qualified, skilled and adaptable graduates who can contribute to the growth of the organization. With our central government pacing forward with Make in India scheme, it is a wonderful opportunity for nation wide growth and development. Moreover, globalization has brought in exciting opportunities with its own set of challenges in all sectors. Vignan s Foundation for Science, Technology and Research (Deemed to be University) has made its mission to prepare globally acceptable readily deployable, industry ready skilled professionals and work towards the socioeconomic transformation of the region. I extend my best wishes to all the students of the Department of Biotechnology for achieving a great success in their career. We take pride in the fact that every year, we are successful in placing about 80% of our graduates with top ranking MNCs. This success did not happen overnight, nor does employment materialize automatically by passing through university exams. This process involves a careful need analysis, identifying student skill gap, adopting an integrated approach and careful execution of the designed curriculum, which Vignan has perfected over the years. The pay off has been most satisfying. We feel very happy to see when students with average abilities also undergo transformation and make it big by bagging opportunities with huge multinational companies. I congratulate all the students and faculty members of the Department of Biotechnology for their accomplishment in placements in the year 2018.

Krupanidhi, M.Sc., Ph.D, FAPAS Head, Department of Biotechnology It gives me immense pleasure to see the happy faces of all Biotechnology & Bioinformatics graduates who got placed in 2 or more companies of their choice of interest to pursue their career in future. When I took charge as Head of the Department, Biotechnology in November, 2016 my prime goal was to have Core Biotech companies on campus to offer placements and significantly enhance the placement percentage of our students. Today I am delighted to see it happen. By 3 rd week of February, under my Headship 100 % of Biotech students with or without backlogs were placed. I am extremely privileged to make the statement that 100% placement is very rare and extraordinary milestone to be achieved by any department or university. Hetero Biologics, a core Biotech company specialized in manufacturing of Biosimilars has recruited 48 Biotech students in a single spell in February, Last year in April 2017, 82% of the students got placed and about 25 students got selected in Hetero Biologics, Santha Biotech, and Vegesna Biosolutions. This is a true amalgamation of efforts of dedicated students, skilled faculty and very supportive top management. On March 1 st, 2018 I took charge as Dean, Academics and I ensure that these results can be replicated by all the departments with the help of well executed industry oriented and well structured curriculum complemented with dedicated teamwork of faculty and students. As we all know Sky is the limit. I suggest all the final year students to plan for their future as well and not stop in the glory of this achievement. I wish to see our successfully placed Biotech students as Job Providers in the next decade. I will be eagerly waiting for the day to come. As a last note I am happy to extend my heartfelt thanks to all the parents of all Biotech students (100% placed) for having trusted us because four years ago they were unaware that this great achievement would be accomplished. On the happiest note of overflowing wishes and greetings, I would like to wholeheartedly congratulate all the placed students of the Department of Biotechnology, 2014 batch graduating this year. It is indeed a proud moment for the entire Department of Biotechnology for achieving a new record of 100% placements by the final year students in the history of Vignan s Foundation for Science, Technology & Research. Department of Biotechnology, being one of the Star department in our University, always work towards the goal and objective of preparing the students Industry-ready. Amidst a decline in the number of job openings in the market due to office automation, most of our students have gained multiple job offers which collectively bestowed 175 placements. Our students of Biotechnology have proven themselves with a statement of success, a caliber to serve the ever growing IT sector as well as the core Biotech Industries. They are also employable anywhere, say it a metro city like Hyderabad and Chennai or a suburban town like Jadcherla. With this message, I would like to convey to all the students of the Department of Biotechnology that, once you do your work of academics with constant involvement, with the blessings from your parents and teachers, success will be on the way to your destiny. Tech., MBA(HR), Ph.D., Placement Coordinator, Department of Biotechnology It gives me an immense pleasure writing this note on the advent of 100% placement by the final year students of the Department of Biotechnology. It is needless to say that their sincerity, hard work and ceaseless efforts have paid them victory. With this note, it is my due responsibility to convey a positive message to the budding students of Biotechnology department. Our University organizes a number of professional training programs with a sole motto of enlightening and preparing the students to meet the needs of international organizations. Programs such as, Campus Recruitment Training, Business English Certification course, Coding, Aptitude Training, Communication & Personality Development, need to be mentioned. The Training and Placements office with a dynamic team takes efforts motivating every student to make use of these facilities provided. Moreover, constant follow-up and performance analysis of individual students is also done to bring the best out of the students. Last year, our University initiated an exclusive program for the faculty members, wherein, the faculty would undergo a month-long visit to core Industries. The Faculty Industry-Academia interaction program is focused on enhancing the interaction between industry experts and academic faculty, aimed towards sharing and gaining of knowledge and technology. This can inherently support in motivating and guiding the students with techniques to cater industrial needs. The final year Biotechnology students (2014 Batch) have taken up internships at core Biotechnology Industries where they have undergone excellent training for a semester and performed projects with great research outcomes. Based on their sincerity and dedication, these students are readily absorbed into the industry soon after completion of their undergraduate degree. Our University has a wonderful tradition of honoring the parents of the placed students during the festival of Ugadi every year. It will be for sure, a great honor and proud moment for the parents as they get felicitated, witnessed by audience on this special day.
