4 X-Rite Metrology Background The former X-Rite and the former GretagMacbeth each had different calibration standards for graphic arts instrumentation. Continuity of standards was a benefit for their customers, but systematic differences between the two companiesʼ instruments occurred on a given sample. X-Rite concluded a study designed to quantify the systematic differences between measurements obtained using instruments from both former companies, to ultimately arrive at the definition of a new corporate X-Rite standard for its graphic arts instrumentation. We quantify the systematic differences under the term intermodel agreement, which is different from the inter-instrument agreement that is typically specified for each product.

5 Introducing The X-Rite Graphic Arts Standard - XRGA The new X-Rite inter-model color agreement is optimized for advances in color science so that all of our customers regardless of their legacy affiliation - can enjoy high quality data exchange between sites that use different instrumentation. XRGA is applicable to all Graphic Arts 0/45 and 45/0 instruments

11 Implementation - General All new graphic arts instruments from X-Rite will support XRGA natively Current instruments that support XRGA ColorMunki Photo & ColorMunki Design EasyTrax Select current instruments will over time be offered in XRGA configurations, existing instruments will be upgradeable as part of certification

12 Implementation - General X-Rite will provide a new version of ColorPort software (v.2.0) that will provide transformation to the new XRGA standard Expected availability Q This version will add support for SpectroEye

13 X-Rite Hardware Implementation Product How to Update Existing Units Target Date for new Units 528/530/939 Customer send unit to local service dept for update during regular annual recertification or during flat rate repair. All units sent in for Service after November 2010 will be updated. For those customers that want to send a unit in for the XRGA update without Repair/Re-Certification will pay a minimal Service & Handling Fee (fee tbd). This process is the same for in warrany or out of warranty. November 2010 SpectroEye NetProfiler IntelliTrax Customers will need to send their units in for service or re-certification and request to be updated to the new XRGA standard. The Firmware will have indication that it is measuring to the new XRGA. If the customer does not have the latest pol filter (according to ISO 13655), it will also be updated with the XRGA. Note: Only those customers that request the update will receive it Customer that is updating their SpectroEye and NetProfiler can order a new NetProfiler card p/n: NP2SPE-XRGA. Note: SpectroEye and NP should be updated at the same time. The XRGA will be introduced with a new software release. The Customer can order the software Update (update CD p/n: CD) November 2010 November 2010 TBD Target by End of 2010
