Position Summary The Support Technician provides technical support for computer, network and telecommunications systems. The technician possess the skills necessary to identify and troubleshoot reported issues and remedy minor to major issues on his own. The technician will help define procedures and processes that ensure a consistent and reliable computing environment for end users. Supervision Received The Support Technician works under the supervision of the Support Desk Manager. Additional general direction or project supervision may include senior support technicians, VP of Technical Services or Senior VP of Technology Services. The technician coordinates work assignments with other team members as necessary. This position requires considerable independence and judgment while acting within established standards and procedures. Technician Responsibilities: *Provide direct and remote customer reactive support through telephone and . This position would provide desktop support to a mining environment and a mill environment. This position will support Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008/2012, Active Directory and perform backups and restores. Also this position should be able to resolve issues such as viruses, blue screens of death, file recovery, wireless and Ethernet issues, power issues, dell hardware problems and fiber connectivity issues. This position will be traveling to different sites. Requirements: Must have experience providing desktop support of Windows 7, Windows 8 and Active Directory. CCNA Certification would be a plus.
