7 BICC Definitions A BICC is a cross-functional team with a permanent, formal organisation structure. It has defined task, roles, responsibilities and processes for supporting and promoting effective use of BI across an organisation. The BICC is tasked with driving the use of BI throughout an organisation. Gloria Miller, Dagmar Brautigan, Stefanie Gerlach A business intelligence competency centre(bicc) is a team of people that, is responsible for managing all aspects of an organisation s BI strategy, projects and systems. This includes developing a BI strategy, implementing BI tools and applications and then training and supporting the business users who rely on them. It is the BICC s responsibility to oversee back-end data management tasks such as data integration, data governance, data quality and metadata management. Search Business Analytics Working teams of IT and BI users that help promote BI expertise across an organisation a BICC helps establish best practices for BI integration by bringing together people across an organisation with various backgrounds and areas of expertise Leah McMillan
