8 How Buenos Aires Became a Smart City Citizen services Used analytical platform to manage and organize complaints and connect with residents. A resident can Tweet out a picture of a pothole, and the city plans a solution, executes it and then posts a picture in response. Early disaster prevention To deal with extreme weather and flooding, the city replaced manual maintenance tasks with remote and automated systems. It also deployed sensors in sewers and pipes to predict flooding and notify residents of potential dangers with text weather alerts.

9 Operations Center in the Smart City of Rio de Janeiro Rio created a command center that allows them to integrate data from across 30 different government agencies and coordinate their work. It has been used to facilitate crime, weather, traffic and emergency monitoring.

10 Regulatory Reform & Predictive Analytics in Chicago Chicago leveraged talents of private sector data engineers and analyzed factors predictive of critical violations in food safety. They created a model to direct inspectors to the highest risk of violations. The city s open data program was key to the project, providing a centralized, comprehensive, and universally accessible source of data that facilitated the exchange of research and analysis between partners.

11 Preemptive Instead of Reactive New Orleans Smoke Detector Outreach New Orleans used federal data to analyze which blocks were least likely to have smoke detectors and at highest risk of fire. They then distributed free detectors to those blocks to prevent fire fatalities.

This is one of cause the waste problem in Pejagalan. Environmental Agency helps with tractors to excavate cumulated garbage in Dipo Moa and assign more trucks to keep Dipo Moa has enough capacity to handle the garbage.

46 Government will play a dominant role in Smart City in Vietnam Implications for Government: Get integrated. Quickly. Be clear about what you want to accomplish with Smart City programs Establish formal mechanisms to involve more stakeholders and collaborative governance structures Rationalize international cooperation and outreach Implications for Business: Be aware of government procurement regulations, processes, and procedures Be prepared and resourced to work with government bodies and agencies at all levels leadership, planners, ICT practitioners, line agencies Identify and establish mechanisms to involve and empower non-government stakeholders Establish a shared understanding of the goals, objectives, and requirements of the program across all the agencies involved 6/28/
