2 Introduction The purpose of this document is to provide guidance and options available to Healthcare Providers to enable existing and / or new mobile devices for mobile working. Options include: enablement of existing personal mobile devices, enablement of existing corporate mobile devices, as well as routes to market to buy new mobile devices. Before buying new or enabling existing Mobile Devices for mobile working, Healthcare Providers should consider their mobile working strategies in context of current and future technology developments. This is essential to ensure alignment of hardware technology, software solutions, data sets, connectivity, authentication / IG control and Mobile Device Management. See our device selection consideration section for more information. Terminology Apps includes routes to HSCIC managed national data and any HSCIC developed or commissioned Apps available to be deployed on Mobile Devices Enterprise Mobility Management refers to Mobile Device Management solutions exampled by MobileIron and Airwatch. Healthcare Provider means any organisational entity within the NHS or organisation entity that is providing health and social care services on behalf of the NHS including CCGs and ALBs. Mobile Device means tablets, wearables and associated accessories, peripherals and Enterprise Mobility Management solutions.

3 Routes to market for devices, software and services Most Healthcare Providers will have arrangements in place with their Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) for buying goods and services. Your CCG may have existing routes to market for buying Mobile Devices. If this is not the case, there are two established government sponsored Framework Agreements offering routes to market for buying Mobile Devices: 1. Procurement through a Department of Health / Shared Business Services (DH/SBS) Framework Agreement. Please see Appendix B 3. 4 Appendix A - Salary Sacrifice Scheme A Healthcare Provider may operate a salary sacrifice schemes to allow employees to buy their own Mobile Devices and have them configured for mobile working. Alternatively there are framework contracts is in place that enable any NHS authority to access salary sacrifice schemes from P&MM Employee Benefits without undertaking a costly or lengthy tender process. One example is a framework contract obtainable as a member of NOE CPC (North of England NHS Commercial Procurement Collaborative). This salary sacrifice schemes within the framework agreement include Mobile Devices. 5 Appendix B - How to Buy through the DH/SBS Framework Agreement Any NHS Healthcare Provider or their CCG may register as a DH/SBS Associate Member and request use of DH/SBS Framework Agreements. 6 Appendix C - How to Buy through CCS Framework Agreements A prerequisite for Healthcare Providers wanting to buy Mobile Devices through the CCS Technology Marketplace is to register as a Buying Organisation with Crown Commercial Services. The DUNS Number can be requested by contacting customerhelp@dnb.com The table below illustrates the information to be provided on registration. 7 Short name Approval Payment Details The short name for the buying organisation. This will be used as part of the users login names and should be kept short but also be meaningful to them e.g. DWP for Department for work and Pensions. The system will suggest a default name but this can be edited If enabled, orders will need approval before being submitted to suppliers. Default option is to switch this off If enabled, users will be able to select from multiple payment methods when raising orders. Default is to switch on.

8 CCS Digital Marketplace Crown Commercial Services (CCS) offer access to a range of cloud technologies and support services aligned to the Gartner Magic Quadrant i.e. Software as a Service Find applications or services that are run over the internet or in the cloud e.g. accounting tools or Platform as a Service Find platforms that provide a basis for building other services and applications Infrastructure as a Service Find networks, hosting facilities and servers on which platforms and software depend e.g. hosting or content delivery network Specialist Cloud Services Find help with cloud management and deployment e.g. IT health checks or data migrations The CCS digital market place can be found at Examples of Enterprise Mobility Management solutions i.e. MobileIron and Airwatch, as shown in the Buying Guide below, can be procured through the digital marketplace. CCS Technology Marketplace CCS also provides a Technology Marketplace that provides dynamic purchasing of a large range of technology solutions including Mobile Devices. CCS has recently moved all catalogue content into their new improved Technology Marketplace. As long as you have the appropriate system access from CCS you can select the Marketplace tab from the Shopping menu and begin purchasing. This Technology Marketplace is similar in its design to commonly used internet buying portals such as ebay and Amazon. All items displayed in CCS Technology Marketplace are available for a fully OJEU compliant purchase in accordance with a CCS framework contract. All items are available to purchase as a direct award. Please be aware, all prices displayed are exclusive of VAT. How to Search

9 You can search for items using keywords and filter your results using the mapping on the right of the page. You should try to be as descriptive as possible in your search criteria, e.g. Apple ipad Pro 64GB. The system will try to find the products most relevant to your search query by looking for matches in the following fields: Item Name Item Description Item Short Description Item Keywords, including Framework/Contract Reference (if included in supplier content) Item Manufacturer Name Item Supplier ID Item Manufacturer Part Number Item Part Name The CCS system will return the results most relevant to your search term. Items with a greater number of matching fields will appear first in the search results as they are considered most relevant to the user. This will be followed by items matching at least one field. If you are unsure of the exact search term required, you should enter a keyword and can use the filters to reduce the returns. Request for Quote functionality The system can also be used to run Request for Quotes to the open market through the Dynamic Marketplace, or against a framework or contract using Contracts Directory. Access to this functionality must be authorised and provided by either your internal system administrators or CCS administrators. 10 It is recommended that Healthcare Provider organisations establish if there is a CCG or similar arrangement in place for procurement of good and services such as Mobile devices. How to get a DUNS Number Healthcare Providers wanting to buy Mobile Devices through the CCS Technology Marketplace will first need to register with Crown Commercial Services as a Buying Organisation. A DUNS Number is required. The DUNS Number can be requested by contacting customerhelp@dnb.com

11 Who is your internal CCS system administrator? If there is no CCG procurement route to market for buying Mobile Devices a Healthcare Provider may elect to establish an internal procedure that covers: 1. Linking CCS buying documents to internal purchasing and payment systems 2. Specify who can use the CCS Technology Marketplace 3. Buying policy for Authority to Purchase 4. Who and How to register for Shopping a single administrator with the ability to add users 5. 12 Example shopping basket Mobile devices Business Requirement Buying Scenario A Healthcare NHS Trust has commissioned 21 of their clinicians to take part in a proof-ofconcept mobile working project. Mobile device are required to enable and support the following clinical functions: 1. Use healthcare apps e.g. Oxygen. 2. Enabling access to national data (currently PDS, SCR and CP-IS, with placeholders for EPS and e-rs) 3. Enabled Wi-Fi access to local data including , messaging, intranet and limited internet 4. PACS images to be launched from a URL link in the SCR 5. IG authentication to include Single Sign On, Role Based Access Control and Patient Consent 6. Enabled voice and data communication to avoid carrying duplicate technologies. Mobile Devices will be configured with Trust policies using their Enterprise Mobility Management solution. Technical Requirement There will be a mix of OIS based apps, i.e. and Oxygen, Windows and Android based apps. To test all apps, policies and the EMM solution 7 mobile devices should be procured from each of Apple, Microsoft and Samsung to be linked to a MobileIron and Airwatch EMM. Each Mobile Device will require a minimum of: 128Mg SIMM Largest screen size and resolution quality available Wi-Fi Shopping List 7 x Apple Ipad Pro 128Mb Wi-Fi and SIMM 7 x Microsoft Tablets 128Mb Wi-Fi and SIMM 7 x Samsung Tablets 128Mb Wi-Fi and SIMM 2 x EMM options (example: MobileIron and Airwatch)
