1 Job Title System Analyst Date September 2015 Location London Department Lettings Reports to job title Lettings Director Job purpose (A concise statement of why the job exists and its key purpose) The System Analyst is a pro-active, service focused role whose prime objective is to assure and improve the integrity of Reapit s accounting application focusing on the Operational delivery of service, the RPS product and associated supporting infrastructure components. The High Level responsibilities of the System Analyst are Problem Management Re-active Problem Management (Arising from Major Incidents) Pro-active Problem Management (Arising from trend analysis : Cases, Error Logs et al) System Improvement Proposal, gaining agreement and implementation of system improvements with clearly visible and reasoned business impact / value Providing advice and guidance to other members of staff on all aspects of accounting and the RPS product Resources The Systems Analyst does not, initially, have any reports to manage but they will interact across all members of the Operational and Reapit Management teams. In depth knowledge of all aspects of RPS Client Accounts from infrastructure, database, core application, configuration, templates, custom work, business logic and accounting processes Methodical investigation of diagnostic errors combined with recreation and validation WHY? Product ownership by the System Analyst joins the business processes and procedures the application is used for with the underlying technical fundamentals it is built on Gives confidence in Reapit s ability to proactively monitor, identify and resolve accounting errors, leads to a stable platform and a reconciled balance Reapit Ltd Version 1.0 Page 2 of 5

3 Act as Senior point of Escalation of Complex Incidents / Requests and act as advisor to Client Accountants, Service Delivery and other Operational teams Review and define strategic / tactical initiatives that will enhance the Product offering to Reapit Client base, or reduce Operational cost to serve Ensure effective process in place, that focuses on exceptions, rather than being absorbed by detail of operational delivery Ensure that product offering is moving forward with the changes in incidents / demand Competency profile Key competencies that are required for the role Consultancy CNSL The provision of advice and recommendations, based on expertise and experience, to address client needs. May deal with one specific aspect of IT and the business, or can be wide ranging and address strategic business issues. May also include support for the implementation of any agreed solutions. Takes responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, delivering analysis and problem resolution. Identifies, evaluates and recommends options, implementing if required. Collaborates with, and facilitates stakeholder groups, as part of formal or informal consultancy agreements. Seeks to fully address client needs, enhancing the capabilities and effectiveness of client personnel, by ensuring that proposed solutions are properly understood and appropriately exploited. Technical specialism TECH The development and exploitation of expertise in any specific area of technology, technique, method, product or application area. Maintains knowledge of specific technical specialisms, provides detailed advice regarding their application and executes specialised tasks. 4 Continuity management COPL The provision of service continuity planning and support. This includes the identification of information systems which support critical business processes, the assessment of risks to those systems' availability, integrity and confidentiality and the co-ordination of planning, designing, testing and maintenance procedures and contingency plans to address exposures and maintain agreed levels of continuity. This function should be performed as part of, or in close cooperation with, the function which plans business continuity for the whole organisation. Provides input to the service continuity planning process and implements resulting plans. Problem management PBMG The resolution (both reactive and proactive) of problems throughout the information system lifecycle, including classification, prioritisation and initiation of action, documentation of root causes and implementation of remedies to prevent future incidents. Ensures that appropriate action is taken to anticipate, investigate and resolve problems in systems and services. Ensures that such problems are fully documented within the relevant reporting system(s). Coordinates the implementation of agreed remedies and preventative measures. Analyses patterns and trends. 5 Experience: At least 12 months experience of working within technical Problem Management based environment broad knowledge of process and procedures, so ability to coach, mentor and advise staff within accounts environment. Experience supporting a bespoke software solution, with high level of configuration, working on a client server cloud based environment. Personal qualities: (Distinct from competencies) Person should be of a positive disposition, confident and with a sharp attention to detail. Ability to work well under pressure while presenting a positive and friendly demeanour to both the customer and colleagues.
