2 BIM Deliverables 2D Information - 2D drawings will be output directly from the 3D models and embellished further with detail. 3D Design Model - A full federated 3D model of the scheme will be produced and maintained throughout the scheme. 4D Programme Model - The programme embedded into elements of the model for construction purposes. 5D Cost Model - Budget and forecast will be integrated into the model on a trial basis on the Rail Bridge-EVA 6D Asset Model Taking the model beyond the completion of the construction phase to become an asset information model for use in lifecycle maintenance. This will involve the understanding the existing HE databases and their migration to IAM IS. Data Storage & Business Collaboration - Projectwise will be utilised on the project for all data storage. Mobile Technology - The project will make use of the latest mobile technology. Knowledge Sharing - Monthly reporting back to project board, sharing with construction team, issuing of KTP s to HE 2

4 2D Information 2D drawings have been produce from 3D models mainly from C3D & Revit, these have been standard sections and elevations required for design deliverable output, but also for temporary works design QR codes can be attached to drawings, so that a quality/verification check can be carried out on the drawings Status and or Revision directly opens up ProjectWise drawing registers. Interactive Stats Drawing Collaboration of Stats Consultants/Agents and costain engineers to have single source of information relating to Stats available to all on ProjectWise. 5 3D Model 3D model Only the AutoCAD Civil 3D and Navisworks and Revit 3D models were provided for the preparation of the Final Target Cost for most elements. With some of the models extra effort was required to obtain the data required due to software shortfalls, but the data was still useable. 5

6 3D Hazard Management Designer Jacobs 3D blocks have been created to represent the Design Hazard Log in a model format. The Navisworks model has been used by the Road Safety Audit team to undertake their audit of the design. 6

7 4D Programme Model Software used Synchro Pro/Primavera The initial target for integration of 4D was the Rail Bridge Slide 2 nd target is the actual build of the bridge in-situ. Feedback from NwR for QRSA was that it was the best they have seen in the 8yrs of this procedure. 7

9 5D Cost Model Programme is cost loaded in Primavera P6 using Highways England WBS cost coding structure As the time elapses programme activities or summary bars progress and Synchro can simulate the cost building as a bar on the video/avi Most 5d software requires ifc s not truly available with C3D Property Object files are special Library Parts without a 3D Script. Property Objects are generally used to describe specific structures for the purposes of calculation, e.g., the quantities and the detailed description of reinforced concrete beams used in the project. 9

10 6D Asset Model An add-on for Navisworks called Navistools has been used to test the process of adding asset data, which is stored in a SQL database, to the Navisworks model. Links now able to directly link with ProjectWise and open documents not just taking you to the folder Developed sequel structured database inline with ADMM/workbook, for integration with IAM-IS 10

19 Redbite Asset Tagging A160 Pilot Redbite Asset Tagging system - A160 Pilot Also HyperCat- allowing systems to talk to one another-the HyperCat specification allows Internet of Things clients to discover what data an IoT server has available, which helps to break down the walls between today's vertical silos. Scope includes both existing and new carriageway. Assets covered Lighting, Gullies, Pavement, Signs and VRS Immediate value to MAC for asset history, record of faults, gully emptying etc. 19

21 Data Storage & Business Collaboration ProjectWise, by Bentley Systems, has been selected due to its breadth of ability in managing data in a collaborative, secure, controlled and quality managed environment. Its ability to handle any CAD format and its integration and embedment into the user s computer system makes this and ideal choice, through People, Process and Technology, we seek to de-risk project delivery. On the A160 we are finding many advantages to ProjectWise and it is improving our efficiency in many areas such as; the hyperlinked combined service drawing accessed by both Costain and Stats Agent Full electronic systems for ITPs, MARs, RFIs (this includes state changing and electronic signatures), drawings and appendices Asset tagging and QR Codes linked directly into PW - not only a folder but automatically opening documents The A160 is leading the way for the sector and believe PW also has much more functionality we are still not using. 21
