2 Selection of Experience Building and Property Building Services Engineering Investigated cause and origin of carbon dioxide gas escape from a carbon dioxide cooling plant enclosure in a supermarket. Project managed the replacement of x2 600kW commercial boilers during the winter of Assessed damage on x2 Potterton boilers after a flood to verify whether it was flood damage or preexisting damage on an insurance claim. Heating Ventilation & Air-Conditioning (HVAC) / Low-Pressure Hot Water (LPHW) Building Services Engineer at South Tyneside Council [ ] I was responsible for planned preventative, reactive maintenance for over 300 commercial properties. My experience is enhanced with the knowledge of the British and European Standards in the area of building services. Project managed refurbishment of refrigeration based air-conditioning unit to a fresh air based system which reduced the energy consumption by around 50%. Specified, procured and project managed the installation of a number of air conditioning units and systems at commercial properties and data centres. Legionella Management Responsible for Councils Legionella management. Over 3 years I reduced the risk rating from high to low risk on a number of buildings. I reduced the paperwork by 80%. Lifts Responsible for planned and preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance and for organising statutory inspections and tests under LOLER for 43 lifts. I was also involved in the specifying and procuring of lifts when a replacement was required. Project managed the replacement of 3 lifts in 6 months. Fire and Explosions Investigations Electrical Fires Investigated cause and origin of a fire at a MOT garage that was caused by a high resistance connection at a wall socket. Investigated cause and origin of a fire at a poultry farm that originated in the main plant room involving solar panels and a diesel generator that was interconnected in an Automatic Transfer Switch. Investigated cause and origin of a fire in a sawmill in Aberdeen. Investigated cause and origin of a fire originating from a hot food storage unit at a supermarket. Explosions Investigated cause and origin of an explosion in a prestigious hotel in London. Investigated cause and origin of a fire and explosion at a solvent plant in Manchester. Product Liability Material Failure Investigated cause and origin of failure of a bellow. Investigated cause and origin of failure of a hot water bottle. Investigated cause and origin of failure of a stop valve on a chilled water air handling system. Equipment Damage Assessment Flood, Smoke, and Fire Assessed and provided quantum for: 1.
