3 Selection of Experience Occupational Disease Engineering Evidence Acts as an Expert Witness providing engineering evidence in relation to environmental noise, occupational disease claims for noise-induced hearing loss, hand-arm vibration syndrome and whole-body vibration injuries. Experience of conducting site inspections Occupational Noise & Vibration Noise and Vibration Consultancy on the management of risks from occupational exposure to noise, hand-arm, wholebody vibration, and environmental noise. Advises on the level of risk and exposure in occupational settings, including conducting measurements to assess personal exposure or engineering risk of failure. Identifies failings in systems for risk assessment and control, and risk gaps; analyses control and management of risk against expected standards of legal compliance and good practice. Advises on practical steps for control of risks and compliance with legal requirements, including on management strategies, technical/organisational control, personal protection, instruction and training and health surveillance systems. Vibration Fatigue & Risk Management Consultancy on the management of risks from vibration fatigue. Advises on risk based inspection techniques, and resolution of issues identified and the appropriate standard and guidance, including BS7608 and the AVIFF guidelines on the Avoidance of Vibration Induced Fatigue in Process Pipework. Conducts measurements of vibration, dynamic stress and dynamic pressure as appropriate and where required. Advises on expected standards and established good practice and practical steps for control of risks and adherence with any relevant legal requirements, standards and guidance. Deliver a range of projects (onshore and offshore) in the UK and in Azerbaijan and Georgia, including terminals, pumping stations, offshore and onshore production facilities, power plants. Machinery Safety and Compliance Noise and Vibration Advises on the safety and conformity of machinery and equipment with respect to noise and vibration emissions. 4 requirements based on Directives 2006/42/EC Machinery and 2000/14/EC Outdoor Equipment. Standards and methods for the design, and construction of machinery for minimal noise and vibration emission. Standards and methods for the measurement and declaration of noise and vibration emissions. Environmental Noise Consultancy on the management of environmental noise and compliance. Advises on the level of risk and noise levels settings, including conducting modelling and measurements to assess levels and engineering specifications and risk management of solutions to control noise. Delivered a range of projects, including small passenger cars, high performance/supercars, and commercial vehicles. Delivery of programmes included using hybrid modelling techniques to predict passby noise levels at the concept stage and to use this data to inform detail design to ensure the final product meets specification. This was delivered alongside component and whole vehicle prototype testing to ensure the product was meeting the required specification. Delivery of the certification testing included liaising with the enforcement body (VCA) to agree vehicle variants to be tested and the test parameters and to ensure that the approvals were conducted successfully.
