3 About the day Talks and Workshops Arrival and Check in When you arrive at the open day please check in or register at the welcome desk. Help Desk If you have any questions relating to the open event, then please visit the help desk. Emergencies If the fire alarm sounds please leave the building immediately and follow the directions given by the fire marshals and Student Ambassadors. First aid assistance can be obtained at the help desk. Information Fair At the information fair you can meet academics and learn more about your course. There will be stands on accommodation, admissions, learning support and various other student services. Location: Piazza, Blue Met Lounge and Student Hub Accommodation and Tours Visit the accommodation stands to find out about various housing options. A number of external accommodation providers will be around to discuss residential options available in the local area. You can also book a tour of our accommodation providers halls of residence at the accommodation desk. Welcome to your faculty A talk welcoming you to the university and your faculty. 12 News Notes Enterprise booms at London Met Faculty of Business & Law alumna Giorgia Bacco successfully made her way through to the Big Idea Challenge final to be crowned the 2014 winner. She has been awarded 2,000 in funding, a website, marketing consultancy, stationery pack, professional video and space in our business incubator. RSA Awards success Funding secured for organ repair research Scientists at London Metropolitan University are part of an EU consortium that has secured a 1.5m funding grant to explore a new approach to repairing organ damage. London Met is one of the leading institutions in the field of microvesicle study, which is rapidly emerging as an important area of medical research. Julie Berdou, a third year interior design student has won a prestigious national award for designing WW a mobile workplace that connects as part of the RSA Student Design Awards By royal appointment The University recently welcomed HRH The Duke of York, KG, as its new Patron.
