2 Monday, September 26, 2016 Session 101 Extreme Buildings I Addresses the very large and unusual buildings and how building departments address unusual developments. The class will focus on high-rise construction, atriums, unlimited area buildings, large assembly uses, and unusual designs and requests from developers. Several case studies will be discussed using the prescriptive code and alternative design principles of the International Building Code. Bring the 2012 or 2015 IBC. Session 102 Fire Inspections This course provides the participants with a basic knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of a fire inspector including, codes and standards, the inspection process, occupancy classification, confidentiality and privacy requirements, ethical conduct, administrative tasks including preparing inspection reports, review and investigating common complaints. The second part will discuss ethics, with a discussion of real world issues that affect the perception and performance of the code enforcement staff. Session 502 Firestopping Firestopping has become a hot topic because of the new ICC Firestop Inspector Certification and the Firestop Inspector requirements in the 2012 International Building Code (IBC). This training is designed for plans examiners, Fire and building inspectors, architects and engineers. We will focus on understanding the requirements of sections 714 and 715 of the 2015 IBC. Focusing on joint systems, perimeter containment, through and membrane-penetrations.
