5 Saudi Arabia s construction market is on the rise In line with Saudi Arabia s Vision 2030 for development, the construction industry is set to witness rapid growth as the government is in the process of implementing measures that will involve the private sector, leading to more projects being financed by the latter. The Saudi construction industry is expected to rise from $103.1 billion in 2016 to $105.4 billion in 2021, according to Timetric reports. Such indicators imply numerous opportunities for local and international stakeholders to secure major tenders. Saudi Arabia plans to build a new $500 billion Mega-city bridging three countries This massive development, called NEOM, is the Kingdom s latest ambitious project that will be built on a whopping 26,500 Km2 area near the red sea, and will extend across the Egyptian and Jordanian borders. It will focus on innovative industries including biotechnology as well as advanced manufacturing, energy, water, food and entertainment. This $500 billion project will be financed by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund, in addition to local and international investors.
