PROGRAMME The meeting is organized to provide an overview of the current understanding of wood biodeterioration and protective measures.

Oral and poster presentations will cover the following topics: Biodeterioration of wood by fungi Biodeterioration of wood by wood boring insects

Conference will be held in Tartu, Estonia, April 24-27, PROGRAMME The meeting is organized to provide an overview of the current understanding of wood biodeterioration and protective measures. Our aim is to bring together the academic and industrial communities as well as students, studying the field of research on wood biodeterioration. Oral and poster presentations will cover the following topics: Biodeterioration of wood by fungi Biodeterioration of wood by wood boring insects Waterlogged Wood Condition assessment of wood biodeterioration with non-destructive methods Wood conservation (incl. culture heritage) Pre-Conference Workshop April 23-24,

VENUE The conference will be held in Tartu - city of good thoughts. The conference venue is Dorpat Conference Centre located in the downtown Tartu (http://www.dorpat.ee/).

The conference venue is within 15 minutes drive from Tartu Airport, not far from the Central Railway Station and close to the Central Bus Station. See CALL FOR ABSTRACTS The abstracts should be written in English, with headline, author(s), address (es), maximum 500 words in Times New Roman, size 12, single spaced. The name of the presenting author should be underlined. See the abstract example on website at Authors should indicate the topic area and whether they would prefer an oral or a poster presentation. The final decision will be made by the Scientific Committee. 4 FEMS YOUNG SCIENTISTS GRANT Young scientists and students can apply for FEMS Young Scientists Grant. To qualify for a Young Scientist Grant the applicant should be: A member of a FEMS Member Society or recommended by such member Younger than 36 years of age at the closing date of the meeting (April 27, 2013) A working microbiologist Application Form can be found on the FEMS website (go to Meeting Grants - Young Scientist Meeting Grant Application Form) or BWWP2013 website. Please fill in the Application Form and send it together with your curriculum vitae and abstract to the address of Local Organizer info@bwwp2013.eu Successful FEMS applicants will receive free registration and accommodation within reasonable limits.
