2 PROFILE Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) set up in 1960 by the Government of India, functions as a National organization for applied research in power sector and also serves as an independent laboratory for testing and certification of power equipment. CPRI is a member of STL(Short Circuit Testing Liaison) of Europe and is accredited by M/s ASTA of UK. CPRI also provides consultancy services on various facets of power sector. CPRI has expertise in the area of simulation, diagnostics, system analysis and testing. CPRI laboratories have modern equipment needed for power system simulation, short circuit testing, diagnostics of equipment, materials engineering, Seismic qualification etc. CPRI has experienced faculty in different subjects concerned to power sector with practical experience in their respective areas of interest, as well as extensive experience in presenting courses/seminars. About Workshop The institute is celebrating its Golden Jubilee year in To commemorate the event,, CPRI, Hyderabad is organizing a two day National level workshop on HIGH VOLTAGE TEST & MEASUREMENT TECHNIQUES. This workshop is intended to disseminate the knowledge on High voltage testing, measurements and evaluation of test results on various electrical equipments. The two day workshop broadly cover the topics on Generation and Measurement of Lightning Impulse, Switching Impulse and Power Frequency test voltages that are used in dielectric testing of various electrical power system equipments. The workshop is intended to facilitate the participants in acquiring knowledge and information on generation of high voltages, latest trends in high voltage measurements, latest standards/test procedures and various methods of evaluation of test results to diagnose the equipment for failure detection. The participants are also intended to be exposed to practical demonstration on high voltage testing and measurement techniques on a few electrical equipment in the laboratory which will benefit them in understanding the high voltage test and measurement techniques.
