25 The CMCC is an initiative of the Non Timber Forest Products Task Force created to expand the market for indigenous and rural crafts in The Philippines. It aims is to create a regular source of livelihood for upland and rural communities and to support the continuation of their traditional arts. informally launched in 2003 as an initiative to expand the market for indigenous and rural crafts in order to create a regular source of livelihood for the upland dwellers and provide a venue for the continuation of their traditional arts. serves as the integrated marketing arm and design center for the crafts program.

32 Lessons Learned in Community Enterprise Development and Market Access
33 There is a need for CMCC to be adaptive There is a need for expansion of sites and products There is a need for diversity of products. The search and implementation of improved, appropriate technologies is important
34 Indigenous Communities can be further developed if they can gain tangible benefits from their resources, especially in the form of income. Capacity building, professional marketing activities, improved product technology, adaptive business strategies and participatory resource monitoring efforts can help in improving the viability of community -based enterprises
