3 Cohesion Policy supports green and sustainable development of the region: Programming period: and : 207 environmental projects Projects supported from European Regional Development Fund (Infrastructure and Environement Operational Programme, Regional Operational Programme, INTERREG) Environemt protection and climate change adaptation projects dealing with: Water and waste water management Waste managment (sewage plants, recycling, ) Heating (heating plants, heating systems in towns) Flood protection measures Fires (wildfires) Wildlife protection Projects responding to the needs and characteristics of the region (forests and lakes, Natura 2000 areas, Lubuskie PL-DE green border rivers, improving quality of life of the citizens, economic development, )
4 Main environmental projects within water and waste water management strand + sustainable transport realised in Górzów Wielkopolski: Improvement of water and waste water management in the area of MG6 [joint authority of Bogdaniec, Deszczno, Gorzów Wlkp., Kłodawa, Lubiszyn & Santok municipalities] Infrastructure modernization and development of sewerage system, water treatment plant, water systems as well as modernization of the drinking-water treatment plant. All measures aimed at ensuring the tightness of the system and avoiding the risk of environmental contamination ,76 PLN (~ ,31 Euro), EU contribution: ~ ,36 Euro Ensuring of the proper water-waste management in Gorzów Wlkp. Complementing the water supply system, sewarage system and improvment of the Energy efficiency of the municipal water and sewer company in Gorzów Wlkp. Modernization and development of the municipal waste disposal facility in Gorzów Wlkp. Tram rolling stock and technical infrastructure in Gorzów Wlkp.
5 Main environmental projects within water and waste water management strand + sustainable transport realised in Zielona Góra: Waste water management in Zielona Góra Two phases of the project realised in the period of third phase in Realisation of the Installation for the anaerobic fermentation of sewage sludge, construction of sanitary sewer systems and water supply system in Krępa, Wilkanowo and Łężyca ,96 PLN (~ ,17 Euro), EU contribution: ~ ,53 Euro Modernization and development of waste management system in Zielona Góra ,64 PLN (~ ,98Euro), EU contribution: ~ ,66 Euro Integrated System of Emission-free Public Transport in Zielona Góra Purchase of the electric buses fleet - 47 electric buses
6 Other main environmental projects in other parts of the region: Waste management in the area of Żary county and Żagań county The biggest waste management project in the region in the period of Joint endeavour of Żary and Żagań counties ,51 PLN (~ ,04 Euro), EU contribution: ~ ,65 Euro Water and waste water management in Nowa Sól and in neighbouring municipalities The second-biggest water and wast water management project in the region ,80 PLN (~ ,05 Euro), EU contribution: ~ ,57 Euro Słubice, Nowa Sól and Krosno Odrzańskie flood risk management S3 road On-going project co-financed by World Bank and EU Cohesion policy Lubuskie Regional Operational Programme World Bank: 460 mln PLN +EU: 50 mln PLN (~107,096 mln Euro + 11,640 mln Euro)
