9 Case Studies A paper plant - 1 lac tons of all the waste = Rs.100 Million. A Particle Board Plant replacing of both SKO & HFO (5 Million KCals / hour) = Rs. 82 Million Fossil fuels can be substituted with green renewable energy.

10 Energy Efficiency... MKRC experience with over 500 companies both in India and abroad indicates a potential savings of 20%. Lowering the energy intensity of GDP growth through higher energy efficiency is critical to meeting India s energy challenge and ensuring her energy security.

14 Waste Land Development... An excellent avenue for a Robust Fuel Linkage. 60 Million Hectares of Waste Land = 150,000 MWe Direct Employment Potential 1600 per MWe or 272 Million jobs. Cogeneration will double the potential.

15 Survey of Waste Land in Adilabad... BAIF Experts assessed: Average yield is expected to be 20 to 25 tons / ha Annual fall of leaves, twigs and branches can be 3-4 tons/ha. Cost of production Rs /per ton of wood. Any waste land can be converted with appropriate energy crops.

16 Survey of Agricultural Waste Villages in coastal AP within a radius of 50 km surveyed. More than 2000 MT/day of agricultural waste No takers for some of the waste (Coir Pith, lops and tops etc.) Waste to energy will increase employment and revenue to the farmers.
