3 Solar Power Tower with Energy Storage 1. Sunlight is concentrated and directed from a large field of heliostats to a receiver on a tall tower 4. Molten salt is pumped from the hot salt tank through a steam generator that in turn creates steam that turns a turbine and generates electricity 2. Molten salt from the cold salt tank is pumped through the receiver where it is heated to 566 C 3. The heated salt from the receiver is stored in a hot salt tank 5. 8 SolarReserve - Overview SolarReserve is a technology provider, developer, and owner of Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) projects. SR has the exclusive license to market Rocketdyne solar projects. SolarReserve is a collaboration between: United Technologies Corporation - a $65 billion diversified company who will supply ppy and guarantee the breakthrough molten salt power tower technology. UTC s subsidiary, HS Rocketdyne, will design and manufacture the critical component US Renewables Group, LLC - a $575 million private equity firm formed to invest and manage a portfolio of renewable power and clean-fuel assets. 8
