6 ATTEND A PRE- CONFERENCE WORKSHOP Workshops provide in-depth, hands-on comprehensive learning opportunities. Workshops take place on March 25, and require a separate fee. PCW01 Benefit-Cost Analysis Workshop 8:00 am noon Benefit-Cost analysis has been used for years to prioritize water conservation measures. Individual water conservation measures are considered to be cost-effective when benefits exceed costs. Once individual measures have been found to be cost-effective, they can be combined into an overall water conservation program. Benefit-Cost analysis depends on accurate forecasts of conservation measure water savings, costs, and benefits. Benefits and costs are normally compared in a present worth analysis. PCW02 Contamination Response and Decision-Making Strategy Workshop 8:00 am noon This is a hands-on demonstration of EPA s Decontamination Preparedness and Assessment Strategy. This tool describes the steps of remediating a contamination event in a drinking water or wastewater utility. Participants will learn about the remediation process and decisions that are part of that process, and generate a list of utilityspecific actions that can enhance preparedness for an event. CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS (CES) AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS (PDHS) AWWA is pleased to offer attendees CEUs for workshops and sessions.
