13 PCO method (UV/TiO2) in UV Turbo System

14 PCO Method (UV/TiO2) When photocatalyst such as TiO2 is irradiated with photones of less than 385 nm, electron-holes pairs are formed which enables adsorption of pollutants in the presence of air is called Photocatalytic Oxidation (PCO) reaction method. Grease, bacteria, odour and other pollutants are removed with this method. When the light strikes to TiO2 coated grease filter, the grease molecule s protein chains are converted to CO2 and H2O.

15 UV/TiO2 Vs. Ozone (O3) Titanium dioxide (TiO2) does not have any health effects and considered as green catalyst. Self cleaning property with rain (water). Stronger oxidizing agent than ozone and chlorine. Provides better cleaning efficiency than ozone. Easily available and cost -benefit. Energy efficient. 8.5 W UVC is enough for 200 l/s exhaust air flow. UV/TiO2 Larger the surface area, higher the effects. UV/TiO2 Ozone is considered as harmful gas which causes skin cancer, eye irritation and psychological effects in long term exposure. Higher risk of ozone leakage at workplace. Produces unpleasant odor instead of eliminating it. It is also unclear that if the ozone helps to degrade grease in significant amount.

17 Save energy with UV-Turbo The Jeven UV-Turbo hoods have been designed for kitchens where exhaust hoods with high efficiency grease extraction is needed. UV-Turbo canopy is equipped with TurboSwing filter unit including ozone-free UV-light. It is designed especially for the kitchens with heat recovery or changing air flow. The UV-TurboSwing filtering solution was developed for high efficient grease separation and odor removal in professional kitchens. Thanks to excellent filtration effiency ducts stay clean and filtration efficiency remains high even at low airflows.
