OVERVIEW OF OPPORTUNITIES Business Administration A Business Administration internship might relate to the day to day operations within a company, including the management of business operations and decision making. Tasks can include: Managing of contracts. Managing communications with offsite staff. Scheduling appointments. Customer relationship management admin. General administrative duties. Business Analysis A Business Analysis internship involves research into identifying the business' needs and determining solutions based on the business' problems. Some of the intern's duties can involve: Business process and system documentation analysis and mapping. Analysis of business processes. Website and web application development. Aiding the projected manager in change management.

2 Microsoft Excel based reporting and analysis e.g. tables, charts, data linking etc. Economics Economics refers to the production, consumption and transfer of wealth from a personal to a national level. It is often divided into microeconomics, referring to an individual, group or company, and macroeconomics, focusing on national economics as a whole. Internships can be arranged in either or both of these areas, depending on your preferences. An internship in Economics may include: Assisting with spreadsheet models for budgeting. Contributing an article to a weekly economics publication. Maintaining and updating databases. Research policy for longer term projects. Finance A Finance internship tends to be orientated towards how much money a company makes and the potential to increase this. A Finance intern may be asked to: Analyze and forecast financial data. Provide accurate information for strategic and operational decisions. Evaluate market trends to forecast an organization's short, medium and long term financial and competitive position. Aid the enhancing of profitability models. Human Resources Human Resources refers to the part of a business or company that deals with the hiring, administration and training of staff. During a Human Resources internship, you may be involved with: HR administration support. Assisting with interviews. External communications on the website and intranet, and internal communications by assisting with presentations for meetings.

Operations Operations refers to the administration of business practices in order to increase the level of efficiency, and is concerned with attempting to balance costs with revenue in order to achieve the highest operating profit possible. An Operations internship might include work in the following areas: Stock location, stock takes and order picking. Receiving and documenting inwards goods. The processes and procedures in all aspects of the operation. Administrative tasks as necessary. Public Relations A Public Relations internship involves maintaining a positive public image of a company. A Public Relations intern may be asked to: Assist the manager with the coordination of day to day client/agency relationships. Support and promote the reputation of the company or business. Update social media presence.

Duties during a Sales internship are very dependable on the company, but a Sales intern might expect to be involved in: General administrative duties within the sales team. Telemarketing duties, including following up and sending sales leads. Handling incoming calls. Taking minutes at sales meetings. Active promotion of the company, product and services. Cold calling. Supply Chain Management Supply Chain Management is a complex and dynamic supply and demand network, and is involved with moving a product or service from supplier to customer. During a Supply Chain Management internship, an intern might be involved in: Understanding the inward processes, including the MPI requirements and how these are applied. Locating and managing an inventory system. Processing of orders and rotation of stock, including the tracking by batch/use by date, or both. Picking and checking stock, and packing to suit the product, destination and the freight component. Sustainable Business In the past, a Sustainable Business internship has included: Researching and reporting on topics within Australian Action2020 Focus Areas and Projects, including Climate & Energy, Low Carbon Technology Partnerships initiative, Australian Business and Biodiversity Initiative, Circular Economy/Safe and Sustainable Materials, Redefining Value and the Sustainable Mobility Project. Observing and taking minutes in Australian Action2020 Work Group meetings. Observing meetings with members, partners and other stakeholders. Assisting with corporate sustainability event management, such as conferences and round tables. Assisting with transferring and developing content for our new website.

5 Trade A Trade internship can involve the buying and selling of goods and services, or the exchange of goods and services between parties. Specifics of the tasks involved in a Trade internship vary widely from one company to another, depending on the intern's preferences. The tasks for a Trade intern might include: Reviewing and rationalizing the company's performance. Reviewing marketing and staffing budgets. Creating new links with suppliers. Building an understanding of the market, its potential and its size. Looking at the potential in adjacent markets. DETAILS START DATES To ensure available accommodations, please try to arrive on a Saturday. Orientations are on Sundays as listed below: January 14 February 11 March 18 April 8 May 13 June 10 July 8 July 22 August 5 August 19 September 2 October 14 REQUIREMENTS Most internships require a minimum commitment of 6 weeks. Please do not apply for internships if you have no relevant experience or education. ACCOMMODATIONS Most interns stay in shared apartments. You always have your own bedroom and either your own bathroom or a shared bathroom with a small number of people (2 4) and shared kitchen facilities. There is also a shared communal area such as a TV or Pool room. All apartments have internet.

6 VISAS Interns must have a visa that allows them to intern legally in the country. If you are 30 or under, you may apply for a working holiday visa. (not available to all nationalities) AIRPORT We work in Sydney and Melbourne. Both have international airports. You should arrive in the airport of your placement APPLICATION PROCESS A Cover letter, CV/Resume or Portfolio are required. Arrangement for interviews will be made with interested companies. The applicant should have access to Skype for the interview.
