2 Senior Cardiovascular Research Scientist Contexte/Enjeux/Mission de la Direction / Context, Stakes, Direction Mission The Cardio team insures the growth of the leading dairy brand (Number 1 in Europe for Cardio Health benefit), generates and develops new business opportunities related to promotion of cardiovascular Health. Mission du Poste / Position s mission Use your cardiovascular expertise to build and execute the scientific strategy for Heart Health Benefits (hypertension and healthy heart) : define scientific plans (pre-clinical test, experimental plan, clinical studies) and scientific valorisation (publications and congress) to support communication Translate latest scientific knowledge and discoveries into business opportunities for Danone Build and develop the scientific collaborations with Premium scientific entities Conduct and coordinate the science of multidisciplinary R&D projects in accordance with the strategy for the cardiovascular health benefit. Communicate the strategy and the results to the Marketing & Health Marketing teams Principales Responsabilités / Key responsibilities and accountabilities Lead project management. Define and animate the scientific strategy for the brands and the health benefits with main functional relationships Animate an advisory board of KOLs/experts for the cardio team and develop the network (chair, association, foundation.) Define and conduct scientific research programs and projects feeding the strategy. Support the brand team Claim Manager for the construction of the scientific dossier (quality and relevance of clinical studies versus the claim, interaction with other actors: regulatory, IP, Safety ) for the brands. Responsible of the quality of the scientific dossier for the Heart Health brands Define the best valorisation of results strategy (communications, publications) for the brands and for the heart health benefit. In charge of the valorisation of results for the brands, internally (CODI ) and externally (scientific meetings, experts ). Project management: reporting of the science and resources (budget and human) Source of partnerships to translate external science in business opportunities for the health benefit Management of trainee and/or PhD student Management of scientific collaborations (heart health and hypertension). Position for a Research Manager Digestive Functions- senior Long-term contract Your mission Within the R&D organisation, the Brand Teams are focused on our major brands and new innovations around new consumer benefits. Through an integrated R&D approach, the BT deliver products, technology & science enabling the business to: reinforce and innovate the health claims for the major brands. launch innovative new products under our main brands whilst respecting the brand s health benefits. launch innovative products with new health benefits Drive value and reduce costs for our major brands Within the Activia brand team, the role of Senior Scientist is to design and execute research projects to support the Activia Brand scientific strategy. The jobholder will also design scientific studies to support the benefit communication of the Activia brand as well as creating new claims for the brand supported by sound science. Main Responsibilities Define science projects. Manage a team of 3 to 4 junior scientists. Identify and manages scientific collaborations (academic and non-academic) as appropriate. Execute projects with clear outputs, milestones and timelines. Coordinate outputs with key stakeholders. E.g. claim manager and project managers. Exploit results internally and externally through claim development and external publications. Ensure rigorous intellectual property management of project/study outputs. Maintain and develop strong links with relevant experts in the scientific field of expertise. Present and report projects appropriately. Follow relevant bibliography and participate actively at scientific congresses.

Job Dimension The position holder is responsible for the management of R&D projects with high strategic impact and business stakes. (Activia brand worth 2 bn Euros). This requires strong project management skills including project planning, resource allocation, budget management, risk analyses, reporting and timely delivery. The key contacts for this role are the Brand team director, Scientific group leader, platform directors, the brand project managers. In addition, the job holder will work with the marketing teams and external experts and external communication. Strong global network with leading academic and private research institutes (such as Institut Pasteur, UCLA, Harvard Medical School, NIZO, TNO etc.). The job holder is expected to participate in top scientific congresses and world wide symposia. The job holder will also animate supplier/partner relationships in order to accelerate scientific outputs. Finally, this person will communicate around the key scientific messagesof the brand to press and external bodies. Your Profile - Ideally, you will have a Ph.D. in nutrition, biology, physiology, or pathophysiology plus 2 4 years of further research experience. You may also have post doctoral research experience. Any research on the physiological understanding of the digestive system is desirable but not essential. - You will have good knowledge of gastrointestinal physiology (motility, secretion, hormonal feedback, etc.,) - The job holder will need to have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
