3 Pilot exercise Political level 2 meetings: - Commitment - Technical group - 2 ANSPs - No impact on 2016 report Technical issues investigation 6 meetings: Finalisation Stopped due to: - Full screening DP vs MP L3 - Very good level of alignment - Some minor alignment issues items that don t have 1-1 relations and pre-requisites - SDMs inability to share data due to confidentiality issues (in order to solve technical issues we wanted to compare 2 datasets from SDM and LSSIP) November 2016 March

4 The role of NSA Coordination Platform to provide for discussion on SES implementation in relation to NSAs role; to validate and/or contribute to the creation and validation of guidance material to NSAs, including material to support the harmonisation of their procedures and arrangements; to share best practices and experiences; to advise on regulatory issues within the defined responsibilities of the NSAs; as appropriate; to identify potential problems emerging from SES implementation and identify ways and means for their solution; to provide a framework for possible mutual assistance with regards to human resources and expertise. SESAR Deployment Sub-Group Work Plan has been developed on the basis of the mandate given by NCP at its 8th plenary meeting. Its remit is to review issues related to SESAR deployment from an NSA perspective 4

5 SESAR Deployment activities Level 1 SESAR Deployment is more than just PCP Level 2 Plan Level 3 LSSIP Report MP L3 / LSSIP at the centre of SESAR deployment SESAR Deployment WG Scope: SESAR Deployment within Common Projects (currently the PCP) Deployment included within the Master Plan Level 3 or Local Single Sky Implementation documents (LSSIP) SESAR 1 and SESAR 2020 projects 5

6 Constructive participation in NCP EUROCONTROL - observer to the group Meeting #11 held in September in Brussels 18 NSAs present (AL, CH, CZ, DE, ES, FI, FR, GR, HR, IE, NL, NO, PL, PT, SI, FI, SE, DK), SDM, SJU and EC PEPR presented How MP L3 / LSSIP mechanism can support NSAs to perform their tasks related to SESAR Deployment? Presentation very well received by the NSAs Some members expressed the need to have an independent monitoring picture on PCP (this should be provided through LSSIP) Action proposed by the group to unlock the dialog with the SDM 6

8 Conclusions The States are responsible to ensure SESAR deployment LSSIP as a State tool is very well positioned to support this work We should look for synergies and complementarities between LSSIP and SDM tool two tools can help each other and coexist as they have a different purpose! Action NCP/SDWG/11/16 The Chair, assisted by NCP Support, to draft letter to SDM for clarification over the confidentiality issue when sharing reporting information with EUROCONTROL The MP L3 / LSSIP can be very useful for European Commission to help with various tasks related to SESAR deployment, and planning and reporting in general 8
