The West of England LEP believe that the delivery of, and access too, high quality Careers Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) is key to ensuring that young people and adults across the West of England are able to make informed career choices. Access to locally-informed and easy-to-understand Labour Market Intelligence (LMI) is often cited as a key barrier to providing high quality careers information to young people and adults alike. 8 Working age population(wap) This is defined as all people aged between 16 and 64 - RPA The West of England WAP in 2013 was estimated at 707,100 people. There have been steady increases over the past 20 years. The WAP is projected to continue to increase in the future. The Office for National Statistics (ONS) projects that by 2037, the WoE WAP will have grown to 777,020 a rise of 10.8%. The WoE has a relatively high employment rate, when compared with similar largely urban areas in the UK. In 2013 the WoE Employment Rate was 73.7%, well above the UK rate of 71.6%.
