3 Welcome from our Director of Programmes The Mary s Meals Graduate Intern Programme will develop skills, knowledge and experience by taking what has been learned in university and work experience to date and practically applying it to aspects of Mary s Meals school feeding programme implementation and management; monitoring, evaluation and learning; funding and policy, in a Mary s Meals country programme at the point of delivery. A developed plan tailored to meet the learning objectives will be followed, with structured training, practical hands-on experience, opportunity to work on real time projects in a fast paced environment. They will work wit our country team both in the office and out at the schools delivering feeding. Mentor support will be provided and clear development objectives set and reviewed regularly throughout the programme. It s an opportunity for graduates to shine and gain valuable experience; by the end of your programme, you ll have developed all the skills you need to progress to the next stage of your career. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate, who will not only possess strong technical capabilities, but will also be an individual who believes strongly in our values. 4 Programmes Graduate Outline Role title: Programmes Graduate Internship Location: Liberia/ Malawi/ Zambia/ Kenya Key Activities Support the programmes team in communicating Mary s Meals vision and values to schools and communities Support the programmes team in their review of existing processes and the introduction of new systems Assist with content development of the programme s project materials Research, analyse and report on emerging trends from internal and external sources e.g. Monitoring the in country political, social, economic environment and draw inferences for the school feeding programme Assist with research and policy analysis relevant to school feeding in country and globally Attend, participate in and provide admin support at meetings and workshops Assisting in drafting monthly progress reports against agreed plans and objectives. Assisting in various research assignments Support the Programmes Team in managing active projects Input to financial and narrative reports Support project delivery and monitoring and evaluation activities. Contract: Up to 6 months Reports to: Country Director Support the Programmes Team with the design of projects. This will include designing activities, budgeting, creating timelines for delivery and monitoring and evaluation planning Support the programmes team with tracking activities against a log frame Develop and write content for the funding proposals Perform other duties as assigned by the Project Manager Management of Self Set objectives and review in collaboration with the project manager Weekly report and discussion wit mentor Provide end of internship review in a report format reflecting on personal learnings and learnings for Mary s Meals Continue to identify opportunities for own development Qualifications/ Knowledge/ Experience Education Relevant graduate degree or predicted degree Experience Held a position of responsibility Skills and Knowledge Good numerical and writing skills Able to communicate clearly to a range of audiences Confidence to speak up wit good ideas 4
