PURPOSE OF THE TEAM Part of Tearfund s vision is to see churches around the world adopt a holistic approach to mission and discipleship. We call this integral mission. It is the church speaking of and living out its faith in Jesus Christ in every aspect of life; contributing to the positive physical, spiritual, economic, psychological and social transformation of people, and stewarding creation well. We re convinced that one of the most effective things that Tearfund can do for communities living in poverty is to help as many churches as possible to embrace an integral mission approach and to equip them with practical tools to outwork it. Envisioning 100,000 local churches has the potential to release more prayer, money, creativity and impact than if Tearfund grew a hundredfold. The Integral Mission Initiative seeks to influence and equip the global church to do just that - integral mission. We aim to support Tearfund s frontline activity through the creation of resources, tools and programmes, providing theological advice and support, and through engaging with key networks. Within that, the Global Communications Team are responsible for the development of online and offline resources and communications to both influence and equip our audiences. One of our key channels is the Tearfund International Learning Zone where all of our publications for overseas audiences are available free of charge. 2. MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB Provide online production capabilities to the Global Communications Team to resource the IMI Initiative and international audiences. Project manage web and database projects. Research and contribute to innovative and effective use of digital technology in communications and within our overseas programmes. 3. POSITION IN ORGANISATION Member of the International Group: Global Programmes Reports to the Global Communications Manager Liaises with Digital Communications Manager on digital production platforms and process Works closely with digital team in Global Brand and Communications and connects into digital practitioners group 6. SCOPE OF JOB Working closely with the Digital Projects Manager, develop a digital production plan and digital production elements of all communications Managing the development of the Global Volunteering website database Researching and implementing new digital trends as part of broader team strategy plans Briefing suppliers of digital communications services as project manager Digital production support: s, social media, online advertising, SMS and other digital communications channels/platforms Monitoring and analysing online channels through Google analytics and other measuring tools Ensuring visual brand consistency of all online production 7. DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Actively participating in the Global Communications Team Attending and general participation in praying for the team, the work and for wider Tearfund issues Contributing to team learning sessions and collaborative projects. Digital production Overseeing web builds for use in all teams served by Global Communications Team Developing wireframes, ensuring good UX, and final designs for development liaise with digital team to ensure joined up working Overseeing web development with internal Creative/IT teams and external agencies. Maintaining and develop CMS functionality (with internal developers) for web content authors Designing, building and sending communications in Mailchimp liaise with digital team to ensure joined-up working Providing guidance and hands on technical support to develop and maintain websites for nonsupporter-facing teams. Researching and developing new media for publishing international resources Ensuring visual brand in all online production, adhering to corporate brand guidelines Contributing to other elements of digital production: o Social media: help to monitor and develop Tearfund s social media engagement o Online video: upload and maintenance of Tearfund accounts o Online advertising: monitoring and contributing to online advertising campaigns o Any other online production and maintenance tasks, as required Manage development of Global Volunteering website database Project managing the new website database build and delivering a product which serves the team Working closely with Tearfund s back-end developers, liaising between the Global Volunteering Team and the developers. Research and specialist advice Keeping abreast of technological and design developments in digital communications in order to: lead on innovative digital projects within the Global Communications Team advise on digital elements of creative briefs be an active member of Tearfund s wider digital working group

4 PART 2 PERSON SPECIFICATION JOB TITLE: Digital Producer (Fixed term) ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS Degree or equivalent level of knowledge DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE Wireframing, designing, and building websites and working with content management systems. Project managing digital and web projects Coding in HTML/CSS for web and Designing and building SKILLS/ ABILITIES Ability to research and keep up to date with new digital technology Ability to organise and deliver work to deadlines and to brief Ability to manage complex, technical projects whilst managing stakeholder requirements Strong conceptual and strategic thinking Understanding of potential of digital communications as an educational, marketing and promotional tool Excellent organisation and timemanagement skills Database project management experience Website or multimedia publishing Using Sitecore (website CMS) Monitoring / reporting website engagement within Google analytics Social media monitoring for organisations / campaigns Google PPC & other online advertising HTML5/CSS/JS frameworks, Tearfund s front-end development environment, and asset delivery for back-end integration Experience in working with the Google environment (Docs, Drive, Sites and other Apps) Experience of working in the charity sector Ability to design for web Understanding of overseas development App building Understanding of Communication for Development including use of mobile technology PERSONAL QUALITIES Innovative Good communicator Motivated and able to take initiative Flexible Collaborative team-player Quick learner Committed Christian

5 TEARFUND INFORMATION FOR APPLICANTS JOB TITLE: Digital Producer (Fixed term 1 year) OFFICE HOURS: Monday to Friday 9.00am pm with one hour for lunch. 35 hour working week ANNUAL LEAVE - FULL YEAR: 25 days pro-rata + statutory bank hols + additional days at Christmas SICK LEAVE SCHEME: Based on length of service NON-CONTRIBUTORY PENSION SCHEME: Tearfund will contribute 10% of your salary to your pension. All staff are contractually enrolled onto the Tearfund group pension scheme NEW STAFF SERVICE: 6 months probationary period with a 3 month review Grade: 5 SALARY: 27,000
