Without this information, we cant prepare for your arrival. Most participants usually arrive into New York's JFK Airport. Here is the link for getting to and from JFK to Penn Station in Manhattan ( which is where you will find the Greyhound Bus Station. This is the most cost effective way to get to Myrtle Beach. You will need it to validate on and also, applying for your SOCIAL SECURITY number. 2. Log on to register within three (3) days of arrival. Make sure you include your room number. Also, if you change rooms, you must update on SEVIS right away (within ten (10) days). We, CHI and the US Department of State, must always have your current housing address at all times while you are in the US. 3. Wait ather ten (10) days to apply for your Social Security Number (If you go before, it will delay everything) 4. Monthly reports are to be completed every month. Failure to adhere to this policy will result in automatic cancellation of the participant s J-1 program. 5. Second jobs cant interfere with your primary employer at any time. No exceptions. 6. Many students buy a bicycle to get around. Make sure you buy a helmet, lock, reflectors, head light and a light colored shirt to be seen when riding.
