4 Product Descriptions HealthStream Analytics HealthStream Analytics allows customers of the HealthStream Learning, Competency, and Performance Centers to view and edit reports created by HealthStream and shared in a report library. HealthStream will add reports to the library on a regular basis. HealthStream Analytics allows users to add, delete, and filter data elements on an existing report. HealthStream Analytics can export data into a variety of formats including CSV, XML, and RTF. HealthStream Analytics also supports basic dashboard and graphical report presentation of data. HealthStream Analytics is available by request for all HealthStream customers using the HLC, HPC or HCC at no charge. HealthStream Analytics with the Ad Hoc Report Designer. Organizations who want to build their own reports from scratch can purchase HealthStream Analytics with the Ad Hoc Report Designer. The Ad Hoc Report Designer comes with ten hours of premium support. A qualified report writer who has completed training provided by HealthStream can use the Ad Hoc Report Designer to create custom reports and save them to their organization s private report library where the reports can be used by administrators who have the HealthStream Analytics editor or viewer role. This release of HealthStream Analytics is the first of several planned enhancements related to reporting for the HealthStream applications. 5 FAQs What data can I see in HealthStream Analytics? Below is a sampling of data available with HealthStream Analytics. For a full list of all data available, see the HealthStream Analytics Data Dictionary. 6 Who can use HealthStream Analytics? Any user in an organization can be given access to view or edit reports in HealthStream Analytics. For organizations who purchase HealthStream Analytics with the Ad Hoc Report Designer, anyone who meets the qualifications to be an ad hoc report designer (see Qualifications to Access the Ad Hoc Report Designer Feature ) and who passes HealthStream s Ad Hoc Report Designer training can be granted access to the Ad Hoc Report Designer feature. What s an Ad Hoc Report Designer? An Ad Hoc Report Designer is a user who (1) is in an organization who has purchased the Ad Hoc report designer feature with premium support, (2) meets HealthStream s qualifications to access the ad hoc report designer feature, (3) has passed HealthStream s ad hoc report training and (4) has the ad hoc report designer role assigned to their user in the HealthStream platform. Ad hoc report designers can use HealthStream Analytics to create custom reports that can be exported or accessed by users in their organization. What s a HealthStream Analytics Report Viewer? HealthStream Analytics Viewer is a role in HealthStream Analytics that can be assigned to any user who wants to access reports created by HealthStream or their organization s Ad Hoc Report Designer. A report viewer can only see data that they are eligible to see. For instance, if an ad hoc report viewer has department-only access, they will see only department-specific information in reports within HealthStream Analytics. How much does HealthStream Analytics cost? HealthStream Analytics is included in the HealthStream Learning Center, Competency Center, and Performance Center platform prices for all customers. Analytics with Ad Hoc Designer costs $5,000 for up to four users. Includes 10 hours of Premiere Support. Price applies to all customers. HEX and Connect customers can add HealthStream Analytics for a fee per FTE per year. HEX and Connect can add Analytics with Ad Hoc Designer for an additional $5,000 for up to four users. Includes 10 hours of Premiere Support. Must first purchase HealthStream Analytics at the per user per year fee. Can I adversely affect the data in the database using HealthStream Analytics? No. The viewer, editor, and designer roles cannot insert, update, or delete the data in your database. How do you control who sees what in a report? Report views are controlled by feature access. If a user does not have a report view feature as part of their role, they cannot see any reports that make use of that view. If I have the HealthStream Competency Center, HealthStream Performance Center, and the HLC, can I put data about all three products in one report? Yes, if you have security access to views for both learning and competency. 6 P a g e

7 Can I see who s registered for a class with HealthStream Analytics? Data related to class registration and grading is not included in the initial release. We plan to make this data available in the second half of Can I see information about assignments with HealthStream Analytics? Exemption information is available in HealthStream Analytics. Student information by student group and job function is also available. Information by assignment name or status within a specific assignment is not yet available. We plan to add additional assignment data to HealthStream Analytics in the second half of Can I see information about learning events with HealthStream Analytics? Yes, full information about learning events, including stand alone, student entered, and learning events associated with a course in your catalog, is available with HealthStream Analytics. Can I see information about how a student scored on a specific learning activity, such as a test or class? Yes. Is there a date range limit on the amount of data I can see with HealthStream Analytics? No. However, extremely large data queries may not perform well and may time out in your browser after five minutes. Can Enterprise-Wide reports be created? Yes. However, some large data queries may not perform well and may time out before the report is rendered. Is student group population available? Yes. Student group population is available. Student Groups can also be used for creating reports. Is data available about who has what job function? Yes. Can I see how many specific enrollments there are for a course? Yes. However, if a student was later un-enrolled after their initial enrollment, their initial enrollment will not appear in the report. Can I see which unique students enrolled in a specific course? Yes. However, if a student was later un-enrolled after their initial enrollment, their initial enrollment will not appear in the report. 7 P a g e

8 Can I control who has access to specific reports? Report Viewers and Report Editors have access to all reports created by HealthStream or your organization s Report Designer. Users will only see data for students they have access to. For instance, users with department only access will only see data for users in their department. Can I see how long a student was logged into HealthStream and what they did while logged in? No. That information is captured by our system log files and is separate from the report data we provide. Will this replace the existing standard reports? No. There are no plans to remove any existing reports. Can I automate a report to run at a particular time? No. HealthStream Analytics reports are available only on demand. Making reports schedulable for delivery like our standard reports is an enhancement we hope to address in the second half of Is there a delay between the time the data is entered in HealthStream and when it can be reported on? Learning data in our warehouse is refreshed once a day, typically late at night. Performance and Competency data are refreshed every fifteen minutes. Can I suppress sensitive data from displaying on a report? Information on a report is established at the time the report is designed. If you need to modify a report to remove or mask sensitive data, you will need to use your designer role to make those changes or to create a new report with your specific reporting requirements. 8 P a g e
