3 HR Gazette Volume 42 2 Abudawood Highlights Project Rover At Abudawood, we take great pride in delivering customer commitments and ensuring to meet objectives to the best of our abilities. When it comes to driving business with excellence, without compromising on fundamentals, Abudawood stands at the top. The foremost fundamental of sales remains distribution and availability and this indeed is the forte of Abudawood Pakistan as well. Taking a step further to ensure efficacy in our distribution model, Abudawood went the extra mile and revamped its go-to market strategy, naming it Project Rover. Rover is not just the biggest initiative for this fiscal but will serve as an important game changer for years to come by defining the way we think and drive business. This project was two pronged: it enhanced the pre sell model and introduced a route sell model. Through route-sell, it aimed to enhance the focus on the lower tier outlets via dedicated resources while the average call per pre-sell SR was reduced to just 25 to drive further quality.

4 HR Gazette Volume 42 3 Abudawood Highlights It is worth mentioning that this project was envisioned in August of this fiscal and was executed in October The credit for executing this seamlessly within two months goes to the MFT who worked tirelessly to bring this project to light. In true Abudawood spirit, all stakeholders involved worked with dedication and team work to implement Project Rover and we are geared for newer challenges that come our way to make sure we continue to excel in all our business pursuits. 5 HR Gazette Volume 42 4 GOLD BUZZ Team Building: Lahore & Islamabad October 2016 Presentation Skills: Karachi & Lahore October 2016 Planning & Priority Setting: Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad & Multan October 2016 HIGHLIGHTS OF SEPTEMBER The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People The first of its kind 3 day signature program session was held in Karachi from September Eighteen participants took part in a personal and professional life changing journey which included educational games, interactive video sessions and activities which kept the participants engaged throughout the session. The program was facilitated by Bahaa Hussein Head of Corporate Learning & Development Abudawood Group and Atika Imtiaz Corporate Learning & Development Business Partner. BIG ROCKS CHALLENGE WINNERS CLD has given away "Movie Tickets for Two" awards to the winner of the weekly "Big Rocks" challenge. This challenge was part of the post 7 Habits workshop challenges held for 4 consecutive weeks after the session.

6 Moving people, moving business Mohammad Umair on a HAT TRICK!!! Qs. How do you feel? Ans. Extremely happy. I m hoping that next month I actually achieve the hat trick! Qs. Did you always want to go in Sales? Ans. As a child I wanted to grow up to be a cricketer and play for the National Team. I even played for the Zarai Taraqiati Bank but could not make the team. I never considered this the end of the world and figured it wasn t in my destiny so I carried on and got a job at Total PARCO as an Operations Manager. I served there for 12 years and always achieved growth with excellent ratings. My learning attitude came from that organization. While working there I used to observe the SRs and noticed they had interesting benefits and wondered in my heart how I would fare in sales. I approached the concerned department but wasn t accepted. But years later when I got an opportunity at Abudawood I took it happily and haven t looked backed since. For that, Allah has also been kind to me for rewarding all my hard work. Qs. As a student did you have certain strengths? Ans. I was not fully aware of my strengths till my first few weeks at Abudawood when I was still adjusting. My father said : Beta, you can never lose at anything. When I asked my father why not, he responded, You can wiggle your way out of any situation because of how you use your words. That instilled un-paralled self confidence in me and I have been using it since! Qs. Where do you see yourself in the next 2 years? Ans. Aiming for the best and hope to grow with Abudwood in designation. Advice : Spend your nights reflecting on the day spent. If you have given it your 110% then you can sleep easy. 8 HR Gazette Volume 42 7 What are other people up to Syeda Anfas Ali Shah Zaidi What are other people up to President of The Welfare Society Source : In the midst of all the dreary news that we receive through social media and news channels, hearing about The Footpath School was a breath of fresh air. The school is one of three schools run by the Ocean Welfare Society, an NGO set up specifically to counsel and teach street children with the aim of keeping them off the streets and away from drugs and crime. This initiative was set up by Syeda Anfas Ali Shah Zaidi, President of The Welfare Organization, inspired by the tragedy at the Army Public School in Peshawar. The Footpath School is set up daily under the bridge near Abdullah Shah Ghazi s Mazar in the Clifton area and provides a classroom setting for children who struggle to hold the pencil up until third grade where they are taught to read and write. The children are also provided snacks and juices however, the need is much greater in the form of donations to run the school since along with snacks the children are given free school bags and stationery supplies to work with. Since many of the children are homeless the long term plan includes providing hostels for them and their families.
