2 2 The Conference Organized in cooperation with and with the support of: FH. Prof. Dr. Andreas Breinbauer from the University of Applied Sciences bfi Vienna is scientifically responsible for the program on 26. September The one-day conference will present, and discuss latest issues in logistics in CEE and aims to design solutions for these challenges. In particular, the conference will focus on the topic of energy logistics and the corresponding infrastructure needs. The one-day-conference is embedded in the annual meeting of the Austrian Logistics Network taking place on 25. September with high-ranked business managers and CEOs as well as domestic and regional political decision makers. The conference, which will take place at Palais Niederösterreich, 1010 Vienna, features key notes, panel discussions and networking opportunities for the participants. This mixture of technical input, solution oriented discussion and networking is supposed to maximize the final outcome of the conference. In brief, the main objectives of the conference are: (1) Providing cutting edge know-how and expertise in the fields of energy logistics and infrastructure solutions. (2) Discussing latest challenges and needs in the CEE region with regards to energy logistics and energy infrastructure. (3) Enabling individual know-how exchange and networking opportunities. (4) Bringing together political decision makers from the CEI member countries, high-ranked business managers and CEOs. (5) Enhancing business opportunities. The conference day is expected to result in (1) Having delivered new solutions to current energy logistics and infrastructure challenges. (2) Having sharpened the understanding for current issues in the CEI member countries. (3) Having brought together decision makers from politics and business. (4) Having advanced business making

3 3 Conference Topic Shaken between boom and bust cycles on the one hand, yet their strategic, geopolitical location on the other hand, make the region of Central and Eastern Europe and its neighboring areas ever more crucial for Western European actors. The conference is dedicated to evaluating the opportunities for transport and logistics companies in the emerging markets between Central Europe and Asia with a special emphasis on energy logistics and related topics. In panel discussions and workshops business managers and CEOs of Transport- and Logistics companies together with high ranked political decision makers from the region, legal experts and academics analyze the business environment and delineate investment- and business opportunities. Best Practice examples of transport and logistics solutions in particular from the Danube and Black Sea Region are the basis for exchanging experiences and ideas and deliver valuable input for subsequent discussions. It originally housed the Estates, political representatives of landowners, knights, prelates and municipalities, the forerunners of the present-day Lower Austrian provincial government. They acquired the Landhaus in 1513 so as to be near the local ruler and to be able to meet in Vienna. Precious late Gothic remnants of this Landhaus such as the chapel and Gothic rooms have survived. Until 1921 it served the people s representatives of Vienna and Lower Austria together. After Vienna became independent on 1 January 1922 the Landhaus belonged to the Lower Austrian provincial government until it moved to Sankt Pölten, the new provincial capital, in VIA DOMINORUM Grundstückverwertungs Gesellschaft m.b.h.
