2 Introduction. The decision was made to revamp the rail interchange at Gatwick Airport, prompting a rethink of customer information displays in and around the rail station. This is where RailPoint came in. Not only did RailPoint save physical space around the station, it also improved the availability and accuracy of travel information for passengers. Compliancebased information such as A Z timetables have been digitised; live departure boards have been enhanced with full, live service details; current and planned service disruptions are quicker to find and digest. What s more, all of this is presented in an assessable and user-friendly interface.

3 Gatwick Express Live Departure Boards.

4 One step beyond traditional in-station CIS systems, Railpoint s Live Departure Boards allow passengers to see exactly where their train is on its journey. Departure times, schedule status, and platform numbers are included as standard. Calling points are listed for each service and featuring a live route diagram that shows the service s current location. The diagram also provides additional benefits for services that attach or detach, clearly illustrating where the service splits or joins on route.

5 Gatwick Express Live Disruption Information.

6 With RailPoint, passengers are able to quickly check for active travel disruptions that affect their journey. At-a-glance service information, displayed in a fixed header area, allows passengers to cross reference the important details of their travel plans.

7 Gatwick Express Planned Disruption Information.

8 In addition to displaying live running information and service updates, passengers are able to check for future planned disruptions that may affect their travel plans. Searchable by date, the system returns three months of planned engineering works for services across the Southern network. Full details for each disruption are given, and can include a map for a clearer picture of the route affected.

9 Gatwick Express A Z Timetables.

10 Traditional A Z timetable posters are made user friendly by creating a filtered index and providing shortcuts to the most frequently requested destinations. In an effort to reduce the number of poster sites required to display full timetable information, the Gatwick Express system incorporates A Z departure information in an easily searchable database. In addition, contextual information allows passengers to quickly and conveniently verify the live status of running services.
