2 We are pleased to present a report on Digital India Week (DIW) Celebration at Walchand Institute of Technology, Solapur, Maharashtra. The Digital India Program was celebrated on Tuesday, 07 th July 2015 at our institute. Prof. L.M.R.J. Lobo Head IT Department, Prof. R.V. Argiddi Head CSE Department, Prof. Pratibha S. Yalagi Coordinator, Spoken Tutorial and Prof. Manisha A. Nirgude Coordinator, Remote Center of NMEICT have organized this program under the guidance of Principal Dr. Shashikant A. Halkude. More than 120 students and 25 faculty from various department attended this program. Representatives of various Media & Mr. Sudhir Jogipethkar, Public Relation Officer of our institute were also present for this program. Agenda for this event was as follows: 1. Vote of Thanks Mrs. M.A. Nirgude Prof. Manisha Nirgude introduced the DIW Program Celebration by introducing explicitly how employability among graduates is increased through the investments of private and public sectors. She elaborated on the role to be played by engineers to grab opportunities in innovations and research in Data Security, Networking, Mobile Application Development, Electronic Communication etc. She focused on the development of small applications built by budding engineers which could help society and make life a better place to live in

3 Prof. LMRJ Lobo focused on the importance of Digitization and the step taken towards the development of Digital India by engineers to a scenario it is exhibiting today. He explained that there is a very important role to be played by every person from the Indian Society to fulfill this mission. Faculty should get in tune with this aspect and make changes in teaching learning process. The best practices followed at our institute like e-submission, e- coursebook, e-feedback, online competitive examinations, use of Moodle & Google Docs, Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) and Spoken Tutorial for certification by IIT Bombay were elaborated by Prof. R.V. Argiddi. With these practices, we are moving towards paperless environment. Prof. Pratibha Yalagi presented the Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay and elaborated its importance with the help of a Presentation & Video sent by Spoken Tutorial Team. She also presented a one year completion report of Spoken tutorial at RESOURCE Center of Solapur University, Solapur & Institute level. Till date more than 11 workshops are conducted under this RESOURCE Center on various topics like C, C++, Java, Scilab etc. The print media representing daily newspapers and electronic news channel took note of this activity and gave wide publicity through their medium.
