5 Modern approaches to education Events at "Fukushima-1" shown that is necessary to revise the approaches to training and retraining of NPP staff. Modern approaches to education with using of computer-based simulators, interactive trainings and virtual reality tools can significantly improve the quality of training and retraining NPP staff. The 3D modeling in last years starts to applied deeply at all stages of NPP lifecycle - from the design to decommissioning. 5

6 Modern approaches to education Creation of computer simulators based on 3D modeling will allow to execute more effective training, starting from students in universities and finishing by personnel in NPP training centers. GC "NEOLANT" working on the creation of PIM for operation and decommissioning. At this moment, company has created information systems for the following NPP: Leningrad NPP; Bilibino NPP; Kursk NPP; Smolensk NPP; Kolsk NPP; Novovoronezh NPP. 6

20 Simulation model of reactor AMB-100 dismantlement at Beloyarsk NPP The target is: testing of skills of the operator of mobile-robotic system BROKK; check the possibility of the designed variant of dismantling the reactor AMB-100; decrease costs and increase security of chosen decommissioning NPP variant. 20

21 Simulation model of reactor AMB-100 dismantlement at Beloyarsk NPP Graphite stack dismantling performed by mobile-robotic BROOK, because radiation level in this place is very high. BROKK is moved by special equipment named Carousel that lowered into reactor pit. Model allows to simulate: BROKK movement and management; Physics of solids; BROKK different mounted tools (mounted nozzle) at robotic; Different accidents and emergencies. Software automatically allows to see collisions of technological operations highlighted by red.

24 Nut wrench for main connector of VVER-1000 reactor The target is: Decrease cost and increase safety on account of wrench-operator training on interactive simulator without expensive technical equipment NEOLANT has been developed: IT complex that allows to test operator actions on control panel of nut wrench for main connector of VVER-1000 reactor. 24

26 The Nuclear Safety Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IBRAE RAN) has developed complex to calculate process progress of radiation pollution in atmosphere on NPP in emergency situation. This calculation depends on wind, pressure, weather, NPP building geometry and so on. NEOLANT has developed system for visualization of this calculation. 27 Simulation of process progress of radiation pollution in atmosphere on NPP site This system not only visualize radiation pollution, it's can be also used for simulating, managing and testing activities of all involved organizations. For example, system can calculate and visualize all evacuation transport movements in depending of radiation pollution cloud. 27

34 Conclusion The one of most important goal is using of PIM based simulators within institute education, that allowing: Decrease adaptation duration for young specialist on NPP; Create and instill a culture of safety within teaching process; Prepare a specialist with professional skills and competences. IT complex with 3D simulation using during staff training or retraining within NPP training center are allow: Significantly reduce staff training duration on account of most visual and intuitive presentation of a material; Significantly improve basic knowledge of staff; Test a staff operation skills with equipment in normal and emergency situations; Trained staff to understand more clearly the progress of emergency situations and the actions to be taken in such cases. 34
