6 Tour 2 07 Feb. Belliporc NV The Belgian Sopraco group of companies is one of the most important meat suppliers in Europe. The Group supplies various types of meat to wholesalers, chain stores, butchers and the catering industry. The completely vertically integrated production includes - through subsidiaries - livestock farming, the production of appropriate animal feed, slaughtering, meat processing and refining and logistics. In addition, integration makes it possible to respond quickly to market developments and consumer trends. The subsidiary Belliporc NV produces high-quality pork. The welfare of the animals is their top priority. By cooperating with suppliers who meet the high demands of Belliporc NV, the entire chain can be monitored. 7 Tour 3 07 Feb. Slachthuis Mechelen At the Slachthuis Mechelen slaughterhouse, approx to 5000 pigs and about 200 cattle are slaughtered per week. Slaughtering is carried out under permanent supervision of the FAVV. The subsequent cutting of the animals takes place in the own cutting plants. Wholesalers, butchers or individuals can also have their pigs slaughtered on site. Moreover, the EU slaughterhouse is certified in accordance with the organic BE-BIO-01 label, and the pig slaughterhouse holds a BRC (V6) certificates as well as one for the auto-control system. 8 Tour 3 07 Feb. NV Moerbeko Vleeshandel The company of Moerbeko NV specializing in beef, veal and lamb was established in 1985 as a small business in Ghent, near the local slaughterhouse. Due to the excellent quality of the meat, the company moved its location to a site nearby. At the end of 1995, they acquired their own cattle farm in Moerbeke-Waas, which now has 150 animals. In order to keep abreast of the continued growth, the company moved to a more modern and larger premise in Zele, which is also fully integrated with the slaughterhouse of the Flanders Meat Group. This enables efficient working and guarantees optimal quality for the customers.
