With the extension of the material warranty and the repair service contract, we provide you with additional service offerings concerned with the SINUMERIK 828D from which you always benefit. Extension of the material warranty For the SINUMERIK 828D and the associated Siemens drive, motor and accessory components, you receive a material warranty of 24 months 1). Your advantage: The warranty period begins with the 2nd commissioning at your customer. This means you do not lose any warranty time caused by the transport or the storage of the machine. Repair service contract You receive automatically also for SINUMERIK 828D and the associated drive, motor and accessory components 2) a repair service contract for 24 months 1) following the notification of the 2nd commissioning at your customer. The advantage of this service for you: We will rectify any faults of our components on-site without charge, namely, directly at the installation location of your machine. You can find further information concerning the conditions and service scope at: 1) Maximum 36 months after delivery from the factory 2) Does not apply to the complete motor spindles

3 What we need from you... Required details To allow you to utilize these service offerings, we require two pieces of information from you. Firstly, the address data of the machine manufacturer, and, secondly, the data for enduser notification. For the contractual assignment of the service offerings we require the customer data of the machine manufacturer to which we delivered the CNC equipment. For the organization of the personnel and spare parts availability, we depend on your cooperation. Only when we know in which region and in which configuration your machine is installed can we respond in the best possible manner to the requests. For this purpose, we require only the country and the town where your machine was installed. Optional details If you wish, you can also give us the complete address of your machine user. With this information, which we will treat confidentially, we are able to handle your service requests even faster and more appropriately.

4 What needs to be done... Simply enter the data and register the machine online and you are ready to use the additional service offerings. Data input All data required for an optimum service process can be simply stored on the CNC controller. The address data of the machine manufacturer only needs to be entered once in the series archive of the machine series. This data is then transferred automatically during the production of the series machines. For the 2nd commissioning, you only need to enter the country and the town or, if desired, the address data of your customer. Then, at the press of a button, the SINUMERIK 828D creates an identity file with all required address data and the serial numbers of the CNC equipment including all related parts. This file can be easily loaded to a USB stick. Online registration To utilize the additional service offerings, you must register the machine. The registration is performed by simply uploading the identity file at our registration portal. With these few and simple steps the additional service offerings are at your disposal.

5 Who can benefit from the advantages Irrespective whether machine manufacturer or dealer you can easily use our service advantages. Machine manufacturer With the purchase of the SINUMERIK 828D CNC equipment package and the registered 2nd commissioning, the machine manufacturer automatically receives the additional service offerings. Machine dealer To allow the additional service offerings to be used quickly and simply in the installation region of the machine, the machine manufacturer has the possibility to transfer these services to its machine vendors or regional service companies. The service call can be handled directly, namely without consultation with the machine manufacturer, between the machine vendor and the Siemens service location in the installation country of the machine. This avoids undesirable waiting times caused by different time zones or regionally different public holidays an added advantage for global machine marketing. The additional service offerings are available without restriction once the machine vendor has registered the 2nd commissioning of the machine. The basis for the transfer of the additional service offerings is an agreement between the machine manufacturer, machine vendor and the Siemens service locations. We have already prepared this agreement in the form of the "Direct service response". We are happy to support you for the execution of the agreement. Simply contact your regional Siemens partner.
