The D Amore-McKim School of Business integrates a fully paid corporate residency directly into our two-year Full-Time MBA curriculum. Spend six months in a full-time, MBA-level position at a leading company or startup in your chosen field. Finish with the skills, the confidence, and the network you need to pursue your professional ambitions with speed and success, and distinguish yourself in the eyes of future employers. And because D Amore-McKim prepares students so well for their residencies and our students perform at such a high level, residencies may turn into job offers at graduation. No other business school provides you a residency of this depth or intensity. None.

4 Overview The process starts day one. The impact lasts forever. The Corporate Residency Process Network Start the process of identifying and securing your corporate residency as soon as you arrive on campus by attending D Amore-McKim s networking events, Insider Insights, and employer panels. Interview Our Graduate Career Center will help you identify residency opportunities and prepare for your interviews. You can choose to interview with one of D Amore-McKim s business partners, or our career advisors will help you forge relationships of your own. Work Spend six months doing full-time, MBA-level work for your residency employer. You ll hone your skills and grow your network as you test-drive your new career. You ll also earn a salary. In 2017, compensation for corporate residency students averaged more than $30/hour. Repeat Businesses of all kinds value the tangible contributions D Amore-McKim students make to their organizations and may ask them to extend their residency by an additional six months.

5 Student Profiles Benjamin Ghosh Business Analyst ButcherBox.com When I started my MBA, I was torn between several career tracks. My corporate residency helped me understand the career that would be best for me. My Career Advisor in the Graduate Career Center knew the CEO of ButcherBox, a small startup that has quickly become the leading online source of 100% grassfed beef, and thought it might be a good fit. And it was. I had a wide portfolio of responsibilities: acquisition strategy, packing improvements, customer retention analytics. Having a direct impact on a small but growing organization made me realize entrepreneurship was the path for me. I ve just accepted a full-time job as ButcherBox s Director of Lifecycle Marketing. northeastern.edu/ghosh

6 Michelle Mandino Business Consultant PwC There s an interesting big/small dynamic at D Amore-McKim that really works to your advantage. The student body is small, so even if half the class shows up to a networking event with local executives, it s only 35 people. But D Amore-McKim s network of business partners is huge, and runs the gamut from the smallest startups to the biggest names in business. As a career changer coming out of a nonprofit background, I wanted a big name on my resume. So I networked with executives at PwC and landed a corporate residency offer on the Deals Team in their advisory practice. northeastern.edu/mandino

7 Alex Tharp Data Analyst Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare I ll be working on the Corporate Information Management Team at Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare. We ll be looking at trends within the company and changes in the healthcare landscape to figure out how well the company is positioned to adapt to those changes. On the data side, we want to make sure we track the right data points and gather the best possible data sets. On the analysis side, we want to make sure we re generating actionable insights that will help Harvard Pilgrim s different business units thrive. northeastern.edu/tharp

8 Michael Silverstein Senior Financial Analyst IBM As someone with a professional background in music, I knew that I needed to pick an MBA program that would give me the opportunity to get hands-on business experience. The corporate residency program made D Amore-McKim an ideal fit. I wanted to do my residency at IBM, so I participated in a number of networking events, working to make connections with the IBM hiring managers. I interviewed and was hired to work in their brand-new healthcare office as a Senior Financial Analyst for IBM Watson Health. My primary responsibility was making revenue projections for products in our Oncology and Life Sciences divisions. In the process of learning to be effective in that role, I developed an in-depth understanding of the business from end to end. By the end of my residency, I was able to offer insights on key strategic and operational decisions to our executives. northeastern.edu/silverstein

9 Andréane Bolduc Multi-Asset Product Management Analyst Wellington Management D Amore-McKim prepared me incredibly well for both my corporate residency and the interview residency process. After a number of interviews and offers the challenge was choosing where to go. I chose Wellington Management because everyone in my network raved about the company. It s challenging, rewarding work. They don t treat me like an intern. I m part of a team, and I m in every single meeting. I feel like I m doing a good job and I m progressively getting more responsibility and interesting work. 10 Jacqueline Quill Product Manager Netra I m currently doing my corporate residency as a product manager at Netra, an image recognition and virtual intelligence startup. I met the CEO during one of D Amore-McKim s networking panels. Through selfinitiated outreach and networking he invited me in for an interview and offered me a residency. I am now working across all phases of our product lifecycle, including beta testing, design, launch, marketing, and account management. I m confident the experience at a startup will prepare me to be a vital link between engineering, sales, marketing, and finance, and maybe one day launch a startup of my own. northeastern.edu/quill

11 Avadhoot Belose Logistics Strategy & Supply Chain Analyst Procurement Manager Staples State Street Corporation I did two 6-month corporate residencies. My first residency was at Staples, where I had two roles. As a logistics strategist, I assembled the financial business case for reducing delivery lead times by 80 percent. As a supply chain analyst, I developed an approach for estimating labor hours. My second residency was as a procurement strategist with the financial services company, State Street Corporation, where I designed and launched a preferred provider program and drove a furlough program for State Street s 4,600 contractors, resulting in multi-million-dollar savings. In the process, I worked with senior executives throughout the organization. They have expressed an interest in hiring me after I finish my MBA. northeastern.edu/belose

12 Zola Coleman Brand Manager Hasbro I was looking for exciting new challenges, and found them working as a brand manager on Hasbro s Global Nerf team, which included focusing on Nerf Sports and the launch of a new product line called Nerf Nitro. As a brand manager on Nerf Sports and Nerf Nitro, I was charged with ensuring that products and marketing materials were on brand. I worked extensively on pricing and competitive strategy. I led product development meetings that addressed issues such as packaging and product materials. I even got to work on asset creation, including product videos for Amazon. And I became an expert in sales analysis, providing weekly reports to senior management. northeastern.edu/coleman

13 Alex Gaines Business Analyst Novartis When I came to Northeastern, I had already taught high school, launched my own tutoring business, and worked for a nonprofit. I had an idea for a social venture, but I wanted to get some for-profit experience first, and thought an MBA and especially a corporate residency would help me make that transition. The business analyst position at Novartis fits my needs perfectly. I ll be doing a bit of everything finance, marketing, and lots of business strategy. I m looking forward to making a real impact at Novartis, and building my skills and my network to advance my future goals. northeastern.edu/gaines
