2 About Generator Generator North East was established in 1991 as a music industry development agency. Over the years it became apparent that our delivery model as well as the expertise and knowledge we had developed, particularly in relation to commercialising IP, understanding how digital technologies disrupt and revolutionise industry supply chains within their own distinct markets, positioned us well to expand delivery across the wider creative and digital industries. Over the last 20 years we have grown into one of the UK s leading creative development agencies and a respected and valued business support provider due to our in-depth knowledge of and growing experience of the sector, links to market, regional, national and international business development opportunities and industry innovation networks and initiatives. We are proud that we are highly respected by both the beneficiaries we support as well as industry and economic development agencies regionally and nationally. Generator are now exploring new markets to offer a range of proven product lines that offer our services as Creative and Digital business strategists that develop talent and support business to that leads to growth through the application of innovative programmes to aid business and sector growth from Garage to Global. About the project As part of our own business development and ambitions for growth we have recently undertaken an intensive review of our marketing. This identified that our current websites are not fit for purpose and has fully informed the development of this brief. As a result we are seeking to commission an appropriately experienced company to build one central website that provides a home to our strongly interlinked brand family and product lines representing: - Generator the overall agency and core brand promoting our unique business growth services - Tipping Point our music development brand - Digital Union our membership organisation that is building, leading and representing the North East Digital Cluster Page 1
3 We require proposals to design and develop sections / areas for all three brand leads in line with the visual and branding styles outlined in the Generator Marketing Strategy Plan delivering against the tactics and core messages outlined in the marketing review. Furthermore, the website must be commercial facing and link seamlessly to our new Salesforce driven CRM. Not only must the website attract potential customers it is also the first portal new customers will encounter Generator and needs to include enquiry forms and payment processes for a wide range of services on offer. Website objectives The website should be visually engaging and easy to use and navigate, providing clear messaging and information on what each of the company divisions offer. It must have three distinct landing pages for the 3 product lines / areas e.g. a Digital Union home page that can be reached by using and a Tipping Point home page using The website must achieve the following: Position Generator as: - a long-established company which has provided invaluable assistance to support individual, business and sector growth for over 20 years - a leading service provider which offers support to grow the creative, digital and music sectors - a trusted partner - employees are experts within their field and utilise their extensive experience to provide cutting edge support and services - a developer of talent and generator of business Position Tipping Point as: - the first point of call for emerging music - the leading discovery channel and development organisation within the music sector - the voice of the music sector representing artists, managers and emerging talent - at the forefront of the sector unearthing the best new music coming out of the UK - powered by Generator Page 2
4 Position Digital Union as: - the voice and representative body of the North East Creative and Digital industries - the leading North East digital cluster at the forefront of its sector the largest network of digital businesses in the North East - a representational body for the digital sector - a rapidly growing collaborative membership network which works with businesses within the creative and digital sectors - offering member businesses a wide range of benefits and support to grow in regional, national and international markets - powered by Generator Effective interconnectivity between the brands online is essential with a particular focus on Generator as the core brand. The Marketing Review provides a clear outline on where the current areas should be improved and clear branding styles and guidelines which must be used to develop each of the websites. Documents produced from this Marketing Review will be made available to the successful supplier. Website structure & technical requirements Initial proposals for the structure of the websites have been produced as part of the marketing review and we will expect the selected supplier to use the structures alongside our Business Blueprint 1 as the basis for the website(s) development. Technical outline: - Base conversion into HTML/CSS + CMS with standard features and fully responsive - Parallax scroll - Visitor tracking - Sites must be multi device enabled - Integrate e-marketing sign up with Mailchimp - Integration with Salesforce CRM including integrated lead generating enquiry forms - Integrate automatic payment systems where required across site - Integrate an online ticketing platform - Transactional functions so that membership and other services can be sold directly through the site - Integration of sales process with communication function 1 The Business Blueprint will be made available to the successful supplier Page 3
5 - Automation & e-marketing to generate sign-ups and build database content - Events and calendar integrated into sitee - Social Media platforms built in and capable of providing content source - Capable for video content - Incorporate favicon - Line with and integrate social media accounts - Ensure maximum SEO Usability & administration requirements It is important that the websites have strong administrative functionality and usability so that Generator staff can effectively manage and develop website content. This should include: - create pages - restructure pages - manage and upload content - add file downloads - create links - The site MUST allow us to add product lines and additional areas as we develop new services and allow us to do this from the Generator HQ with ease. - We will also require password protected member only pages Other requirements We also require submissions to outline an approach and appropriate costings relating to: - Staff training to ensure key staff are proficient in management and maintenance of the website - Ongoing access to expertise in early months of website going live - Annual agreement (additional to initial costing) for hosting, maintenance and management Proposed budget The budget available for this contract is circa 10,000-12,000 excluding VAT Page 4
