Marketing Coordinator ERDF Project EHA Reporting to: Accountable to: Associate Dean (Enterprise and Employability) Dean of the Faculty of Arts & Sciences The Post The Faculty of Arts & Sciences is the largest and most diverse in the University, with a distinctive range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Faculty s strategic approach to external engagement is led by the Enterprise, Engagement and Employability Impact (E3i) function that develops opportunities in knowledge exchange, applied research, consultancy and student centered industry projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work specifically within the Faculty s Enterprise, Engagement and Employability Impact (E3i) function on an exciting SME engagement project, which supports the region s growth and productivity agenda. The Productivity and Innovation Centre is funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and is focused on improving the productivity of SME innovation practices. The project will support SMEs to adopt and embed highly effective rapid innovation processes in the business, which will lead them to releasing new products, services and process innovations to their market. The Centre will work primarily with agri-tech, professional and business services, and digital health focused SMEs in Lancashire. The Marketing Coordinator is a key role in the delivery team for the Productivity and Innovation Centre. You will have experience in business to business marketing coordination, gained in a fast paced operational environment. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for raising the profile of the Centre throughout the region and to individual SMEs by taking a strategic, cross-platform approach which includes electronic, social and print media, and through events. The Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for executing the marketing and communication strategy for the Centre. They will ensure the key messages of the Centre, its progress and success stories of the project are clearly communicated to a wide range of audiences. Your efforts will results in an enhanced regional profile for the Centre as well as individual leads of SMEs willing to engage in the Centre. You will enjoy working on your own initiative, within a set of clear individual and team objectives, and demonstrate a commitment to a consistent high standard of professionalism.
2 Working closely with colleagues to support the delivery of the ERDF project, you will have the opportunity to develop a thorough and wide-ranging knowledge and experience of a modern university s business processes. Flexibility, commitment and attention to detail are essential. Duties and Responsibilities 1) To rapidly develop full familiarity and expertise with the publicity compliance associated with Centre activities, determining internal and external sources of knowledge information and support related to ERDF compliance. 2) Maintain active and positive communication with internal and external support provision related to ERDF publicity compliance in order to successfully advise and guide the project. 3) Establishment of core cross-platform promotional material that communicates the key meets the Centre and meets the verification requirements of the ERDF. 4) Establish and manage a series of promotional tools and channels which target specific groups of Centre beneficiaries and stakeholders. 5) Establish effective systems for understanding the effectiveness of marketing and promotional activities. 6) Establish and manage a calendar of marketing and promotional activities aligned to the activities and required outputs of the Centre. 7) Devise and execute marketing strategies and approaches which generate genuine business leads, maintaining accurate records of all enquiries and outcomes. 8) Act as a point of liaison for all external enquiries related to the project. 9) Work closely with business development staff to target and tailor promotion and marketing materials and activities to key target sectors and business demographics. 10) Act as the Centre s key point of contact for the regional business growth hub to ensure effective flows of information and messages, effectively positioning the Centre within the regional business growth offer. 11) Maintain and manage a document repository of marketing and promotional material so that a clear audit trail of activity is established. 12) Working closely with the University s Corporate Communications Department during the production of marketing and publicity materials to ensure the strong corporate brand and reputation of the University and Centre is maintained. 13) Provide advice and guidance to the project management team and Centre Steering Group on all aspects of compliance associated with publicity, promotion and branding of the Centre s activities. 14) Support activities which lead to the successful collection of outputs and expenditure evidence, which includes as appropriate the liaison with beneficiaries of the Centre. 15) To act as an ambassador for the Centre, participating in both internal and external networks to promote and raise the profile of the Faculty. 16) To prepare, develop and deliver workshops and/or presentations for internal audiences in order to spread marketing and publicity best practice within the Centre; 17) To undertake any other duties deemed appropriate by the Dean or Associate Dean in relation to the Centre.
3 In addition to the above duties all staff are required to: a) Adhere to all Edge Hill s policies and procedures, including Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety b) Respect confidentiality: all confidential information should be kept in confidence and not released to unauthorised persons c) Undertake appropriate learning and development activities as required d) Participate in Edge Hill s Performance Review and Development Scheme e) Adhere to Edge Hill University s environmental policy and guidelines and undertake tasks in a sustainable manner f) Demonstrate excellent Customer Care in dealing with all customers Salary: Grade 7, Points ,799-32,548 per annum Hours: Full Time, hours per week Fixed Term Contract until 31 December 2020, in line with the duration of the project. 4 PERSON SPECIFICATION Marketing Coordinator ERDF Project EHA CRITERIA Applicants should be able to provide evidence of their ability to meet the following criteria. Essential Desirable Method of Assessment Qualifications Good first degree Good higher degree or professional qualification Experience Experience of the coordination of marketing activity Experience of managing multi-platform electronic communication (including social media) channels Experience of website content management Experience of coordinating the production of promotional print material Experience of coordinating the production of interactive media (e.g. video) content for marketing purposes Experience of stakeholder collaboration and/or engagement Experience of working with or within an enterprise, research or knowledge exchange function in a Higher Education setting Prior experience in working on ESIF (ERDF/ESF) or other development agency funded projects Skills/Abilities IT literacy proficiency Good communication and interpersonal skills * I Excellent command of written English, with an effective writing style to influence others Good aesthetic appreciation for professional communication literature
