Be it a building that appears to be made of gold, a section of an airport reserved for sheikh, the sound of a cymbal that requires a certain alloy, or a religious building with an unnatural colour. We could tell endless stories of these things if we only had the time. But in the end they re all about one thing: the magic of perfect metallurgy or, to put it in more practical terms, MKM special alloys. There was one order that left us lost for words. When MKM was commissioned to make the 9/11 Memorial at Ground Zero in New York, we were of course very proud that our expertise had been so highly regarded. It was also moving to be able to help make a memorial of such global significance. MKM sees itself as a partner to our customers, achieving the best possible results together. 4 SHEETS AND PLATES A choice of 50 alloys? Naturally. Our special alloy single sheets and plates are manufactured entirely in-house, from casting all the way to the finished semis. That way we keep our material cycle closed and our customers get everything from a single source and that of course means quick adjustments and quick decisions. Our own foundries guarantee perfect results. We can offer you a broad range of more than fifty alloys. As well as lead-free alloys we stock a number of special alloys including bronze and cupronickel. Delivery We can deliver one-off products as well as volume production batches. We can also produce in compliance with your technical drawings. We assess feasibility, advise you, and provide you with a quotation for the specifications you have supplied. We work together with reliable partners when it comes to additional shaping for special turned parts, bases or forged parts. Our expertise your gain We aim for a unique quality of finish perfect flatness in fact. That requires excellent formation properties. MKM single sheets and plates made from special alloys are characterised by excellent technological processing properties. They can be bent, welded, deep-drawn and machined (to name just a few processes) to suit our customers requirements. Our special alloys are used in mechanical and apparatus engineering, in the field of heat exchangers and because of their corrosion-resistance in offshore engineering. They are also used in architecture and for decorative applications. If required, we can produce ready-to-install products such as tube sheets and vessel dished ends with a high vertical range of manufacture. This saves our customers work processes as well as expenses. We only charge for the material that is really used for the job, while the waste goes straight back into our recycling process. 4

6 SHEETS AND PLATES Special alloys, special formats? Naturally! Our sheets and plates are manufactured to customer specifications. MKM special alloys can be supplied in different strengths and formats. To do this we make use of a rolling mill which is unique in the copper semis industry. The dimensions we are able to produce go well beyond conventional industry ranges. We can manufacture tube sheet plates made from special alloys in XXL format. Many of the desalination plants in the Middle East are based on MKM expertise. We can guarantee an internally faultless product for special needs by means of a separate ultrasonic test. As well as rolled plates, MKM can produce a considerable range of discs and polygons cut to customer specifications. First-stage processing MKM is expanding its activities in the supply of preliminary and ready-finished components. These plates discs and polygons cut to customer specifications can be cut, surface-treated and drilled using a water jet. By procuring processed parts from us, our customers enjoy efficient, tailored solutions to their products and save on material costs as well. We love to satisfy our clients with a solution that they hadnʼt considered Our aim is always a happy client. From a technical point of view, the 9/11 Memorial was a very challenging project. From an emotional point of view, even more so. We were certainly pleased with the monument in the end, as was our customer, but we reflected in thoughtful silence.
