14 Application Neutron Moisture with Ceramic Dip Pipe for abrasive Materials With the former Neutron Moisture Meter, the bunker probe could not be used on abrasive materials due to the low resistance to wear and tear. The steel dip pipe, that protects the probe, was worn out within a short period. Only the surface probe could be used for this application, but had the disadvantage of a half measure volume which also meant lower sensitivity. Even using the surface probe, the problem with wear and tear was not completely solved. 14
