5 9. Expert Opinion 9.1 MR. Nicholas Curtis, the Executive Chairman of Lynas Corporation Limited Visiongain interviewed Mr. Nicholas Curtis, the Executive Chairman of Lynas. He is also Chairman of Forge Resources Limited and of a private corporate advisory firm, Riverstone Advisory. Nicholas also serves as a Director of the Asia Society AustralAsia Centre and as Chairman of Faces in the Street Urban Mental Health Research Institute at St Vincent's Hospital, Sydney. Nicholas was a NonExecutive Director of Conquest Mining Limited prior to the company's restructure to become Evolution Mining. He served as a Director of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research and was Chairman of the Board of St Vincent's & Mater Health Sydney Limited. In addition, he served as a Director of St Vincent's Health Australia Ltd and St Vincent's Healthcare Ltd from 1 June 2004 to 1 October His background is in resources, banking and financing based on more than 25 years as a professional in the finance and resources industries. On 13 June 2011, Nicholas was awarded an AM (Member of the Order) for his services to the community through executive roles supporting medical research and healthcare organisations and also for his work fostering Australia China relations. Lynas Corporation Limited is one of the world leading emerging rare earth producers. It holds interest in the Mount Weld project, which includes rare earths oxide deposits located to the south of Laverton, Western Australia. Lynas is set to provide the first new source of supply of Rare Earths outside of China when it comes probably in The mount Weld mine has approximately 22,000 tonnes of rare earth production capacity. Besides exploration and mining, the company main activity include processing of the rare earth elements. It operates concentration plant in Mount Weld, Western Australia. The company has another rare earth processing plant, Lynas Advanced Materials Plant (LAMP), currently under construction near Kuantan in Pahang, Malaysia. The company has also a strategic alliance with Sojitz Corporation for the Lynas Rare Earths project. Lynas subsidiaries include Lynas Services Pty Ltd, Mt Weld Holdings Limited, Mt Weld Mining Pty Ltd, Mt Weld Rare Earths Pty Ltd, Lynas Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Lynas Africa Limited, and Lynas Africa Holdings Pty Ltd.
