Bring new ideas and resources to those with commissioning experience. Focus on WHY we commission and how we, as Owners, can better manage and leverage the process. Primarily used for HVAC, Lighting, and energy management. Commissioning the systems that separate the controlled, interior spaces from the uncontrolled, exterior spaces. Includes floors, roofs, walls, doors, windows, etc. BOD Basis of Design A document outlining the methods, decisions, calculations, and systems employed to meet the OPR. CCx CCx CFR Capital Commissioning Continuous Commissioning Current Facility (or Functional) Requirements Commissioning of a new building or system. An ongoing process to resolve operating problems, improve comfort, and optimize energy use for existing facilities. A written document detailing the functional requirements of a building and the expectations of how it is being used and operated. Obviously named by a group of engineers, without input from the marketing people. The cause of, and solution to, many of life s problems. It is simply quality control: asking for what you want, verifying that you are getting it, and documenting that you got it. Commissioning of an existing system or facility. Cost reduction strategies in existing buildings. Typically evaluated on a simple payback method. Low or no cost adjustment to a system or operating procedures that will result in lower costs in existing buildings. The comfort controls systems within a facility. Generic term for the nonstructural, non-civil engineering systems. A process for maintaining the optimized operations of a facility or system through data or operational strategies. A written document detailing the functional requirements of a project and the expectations of how it will be used and operated.
