The starting point is the question of how our foors can make an even greater contribution to your heath now and in the future, whether in your home or in your work environment. An important factor in this is the infuence that a foor has on the interna environment, and therefore on your heath in the broadest sense of the term. 18

19 Heath and safety In order to ensure a good, heathy interna environment, the foor must be neutra in a (safety) aspects. This means that emissions must be very ow and that a foor must fufi a the officia nationa and internationa standards set for foors (see aso page 20). Heath and hygiene In order to ensure a good eve of hygiene without being harmfu to heath, it is important that foors are deveoped in such a way that enabes them to be ceaned easiy without the use of too many or aggressive ceaning agents. Another important factor is the abiity of the foor to aow dust to be removed easiy in order to prevent or reduce aergies. An effective entrance matting system (front door and rear door) prevents dirt, water and dust being brought into your home or work environment. Foors can in fact make an important contribution to the acoustics and the perceived temperature of a room, for exampe. The mflor factory is ISO certified, meaning its production activities have a neutra effect on the oca environment. C O M P A R A T I V E L I M I T V A L U E C H A R T mflor products are designed to provide maximum wear resistance with minimum weight in order to minimise the energy costs of their transportation The high quaity of mflor products ensures a ong service ife, whist their physica characteristics make them easy to cean using imited quantities of water and no harmfu chemicas. Emissions Unfortunatey there is no uniform European standard for emissions, rather each EU member state is permitted to deveop its own standard. The most stringent of nationa standards within Europe is the AgBB/DIBt standard used in Germany. A mflor foors possess extremey ow emission vaues. mflor is aso certified by the German Institute for Buiding Technoogy (Deutsche Institut für Bautechnik). In addition to the various country-specific standards, there are many vountary standards that have been deveoped in this fied, such as the Baue Enge in Germany. A of these standards are assessed by standardised aboratory test methods. The many different standards can cause some degree of confusion. That is why Eurofins the eading internationa testing aboratory has deveoped its own, more comprehensive Indoor Air Quaity standard. The Indoor Air Quaity God Standard is an extension of this and tests for a wider range of substances, setting ower permissibe emission vaues than any of the individua nationa standards. This is shown in the diagram opposite, which compares the imits of standards against the test resuts of mflor products mflor IAC God As we as exceeding the requirements of DIBt, French A+ air quaity standard, Baue Enge and Eurofins God Standard, mflor products aso compy with: M1 standard (NS-EN ) for buidings designed to BREEAM NOR standard. mflor products are aso eigibe to score points when used in buidings designed to LEED protocos. Finnish M1 Baue Enge UZ 120 Tota Voatie Organic Compounds in μg/m 3 after 28 days This demonstrates that: The most stringent European standards aow a tota VOC (Voatie Organic Compound) emission rate of 1000 μg/m3. The Eurofins vountary standard (i.e. not egay binding) aows a tota VOC emission rate of 160 μg/m3. The test resuts show that mflor products emit a mere 27 μg/m3 of VOC, guaranteeing a minima impact on air quaity when you opt for mflor. French A+ by AgBB/DIBt

21 Product composition Chemicas that may be harmfu to heath or the environment in Europe are centray cassified by the 'European Chemicas Agency (ECHA)' under EU Reguation No. 1907/2006. This is achieved by means of the 'Registration, Evauation, Authorisation and restriction of Chemicas (REACH) system. For certain specific high-risk products, such as toys and chidcare items that can be paced in the mouth, it is stipuated exacty which chemicas may or may not be present, and in what quantities. mflor design foors as safe as chidren's toys that they can put in their mouth! Our products do not ony meet the highest ECHA standards for the use of pastic materias in buidings, but aso compy with the same reguations as the standard for pastic materias in toys and chidcare items that they can put in their mouth. So you can be sure that your foor is competey safe which is very good to know.
