2 The National Road Safety Partnership Program Why act? Every life lost on our roads is one too many and, in most cases, it s avoidable. The fact is that driver behaviour is the number one cause of accidents. When you consider vehicle-related incidents remain the highest risk of injury to workers in Australia, and is the highest organisational risk for most businesses, why wouldn t you act? Importantly, it intends to bring together and promote conversations between businesses, government and researchers to help Australian organisations develop a strong safety culture something that is critical to running a successful business. McColl s Transport Case Study Since the officially launched in 2014 as part of the UN Decade of Action on Road Safety, it has become clear that industry s road safety leaders are eager to share their knowledge with their peers and other sectors to help them recognise that being safe is not a cost but an integral part of good business.
